There will also be the opportunity to get your dancing shoes on with a live band, and the night will end with a dazzling firework display. The evening costs £150pp and starts at 7.30pm. Fishguard, Pembrokeshire

Since 2000 Fishguard, the small coastal town in Pembrokeshire, has held a New Year’s Eve street party. They have since added more festivities and grown into a large annual event for the town. This event is suitable for all ages and has promised to be the biggest and best they’ve ever done. The headline act this year is THIS IS QUEEN, so you can sing along to some timeless tunes while you wait for the fireworks. The events starts at 8pm and you will need to buy a wristband from their website here, which costs £5. This also gives you one free entry to the raffle. This event has been listed in the top ten places to be for New Year in the past so is sure to be a must see if you’re in the Pembrokeshire area.

Bruton, Wiltshire
Location: Roth Bar & Grill, Dropping Lane, Bruton, BA10 0NL
If you’re a foodie, Roth Bar & Grill’s New Year Extravaganza will be right up your street. The night includes a three-course meal serving beef and local produce from their very own sustainable farm. The restaurant interior combines an open kitchen with a wood fired grill & spit, for an intimate evening. There will be music and dancing, and the fireworks will be let off at midnight to round off the evening. Tickets cost £85pp which you can buy from their website.

Yeovil, Somerset
Location: Yeovil Showground, Two Tower Lane, Yeovil, BA22 9TA
This has been one of Somerset’s largest firework displays for a while, but this year with a ‘neon night theme’. Transport yourself back with the 80’s and 90’s music and when the clock strikes 12 enjoy a fabulous firework display. If you’re not all partied out by then, there will be silent disco into the night until late. This event is for adults and children, an adult ticket costs £15, which includes buffet food. Grab out your best neon leg warmers and head to Yeovil Showground at 7pm!
St Ives, Cornwall
Location: Seafront, St Ives, Cornwall, TR26
Hailed by some as the best New Year’s Eve party outside London, St Ives is the place to be. It is now the third biggest fancy dress party, behind London and Edinburgh. People come from far and wide to bring in the New Year here. It’s a chance to dress up and have some fun in some of St Ives’ delightful little pubs and bars. At midnight the harbour comes alive with people counting down into the New Year, ending with a bang when the clock strikes midnight and magnificent fireworks ignite the sky. This event is also free!

Truro, Cornwall
Location: Lemon Quay, Truro, Cornwall, TR1 2EH
Leave this turbulent year behind and head to Lemon Quay for not one, but two firework displays! There will be a child friendly display at an earlier time of 7.30pm, so kids don’t get to miss out. The skies of Truro will then be a glow again at midnight. You can warm yourself on the wintry evening with a hot chocolate from local street traders. Both sets of fireworks will be let off at Truro School, making Lemon Quay the best view for them.
