Cottages in Cheddar
A charming village in Somerset, Cheddar’s location on the edge of the Mendip Hills makes it a fantastic place for outdoor adventures. Bring your walking boots, pack up a picnic, and go hiking in Cheddar Gorge, where you can admire the spectacular views over the countryside. Afterwards, stop off at Cheddar Gorge Cheese company to see the cheese being made, sample a few flavours, and pick up a few treats to take back to your holiday cottage. Head into the village for riverside walks and cream teas in cosy cafés, and if you’re feeling energetic, you can spend the day cycling along the Strawberry Line, a 10-mile route from Yatton to Cheddar.
Make your way to the nearby city of Wells to browse the farmers market, admire the cathedral, and relax in one of the delightful coffee shops or pubs. You’ll also find Glastonbury within easy reach, where you can wander around the independent shops and hike up to Glastonbury Tor.
