Just beside the living area is this lovely compact kitchen.
Your find a complimentary basket of apples so you can have a go at making your own apple juice.
Visit a Sussex farm shop for some lovely local produce.
There is a delightful twin bedroom.

The paddock next to the drive is available for a quick dog walk, barbecue or picnic.
The historic village of West Dean is so pretty.
The Dovecote is the best preserved part of the old farm buildings which date from the Medieval era.

You can visit the shop to purchase some lovely home-made produce including mulberry white wine vinegar, mulberry jams, chutneys and pure apple juice.
It's a walker's and cyclist's paradise, South Downs Way, Cuckmere Haven, Litlington, Exceat - so many paths to choose from!
Lots of steps but the view is oh so worth it.
Cuckmere Haven sits in between Seaford and Eastbourne and is renowned for its fabulous views, peace and tranquility.
So many beautiful walks on the South Downs, your dog will love them too!

Overlooking picturesque Cuckmere Haven, this traditional inn has oodles of space, a dining room and lovely outside area for al fresco dining. A convenient place for walkers to take a break, dogs are welcome in the bar area.
Nearby beach
This pebbly beach sits at the mouth of the river Cuckmere, in between Eastbourne and Seaford, and is a popular spot for anglers. With fabulous views of the white chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters, this quiet beach is great for dog walkers.

Wonderful views at Cuckmere Haven
We visited Cuckmere Haven and the views were stunning. The beach itself is pebbly but there is so much history connected to this wonderful area that it is well worth a visit. One of my favourite places to be.
Nearby walk
A gorgeous area of chalk cliffs, meandering river valley and grassland, inhabited by sheep and a vast number of migrating birds. A variety of walks will take you from the visitor centre, from a quick 30 minute stroll to the beach, to a more demanding hike to Beachy Head. Whatever time of year you visit, this is a great place to explore on foot.
Nearby town
Surrounded by the Wealden South Downs, this picturesque village has a famous church, the National Trust owned clergy house and a great selection of galleries, cafes and shops. Walkers will delight in the surrounding open countryside and both visitors and locals a like will enjoy many local events including the Alfriston Festival in August and in December, Alfriston Christmas Weekend.

Found next to the grand church in Alftriston, The Clergy House was the National Trusts first ever property. Built in the early 15th century this Wealden hall-house sits amidst rolling countryside and overlooks the Cuckmere river. The cottage garden and orchard are a delight.

Lovely old National Trust House
We visited The Clergy House and had a truly enjoyable experience. We took the guided tour on offer in the garden and the lady was very interesting and informative as was the guide inside the house. This made all the difference as we learnt so much. Such a lovely place to visit.
Centrally located on the high street, this traditional pub offers hearty food, warming log fires and real ales. Everyone is welcome here, including your four legged friends.

Delightful old country pub
We ate at The George Inn on several occasions and each time the food was delicious. The pub itself is cosy with a lovely ambience and the staff friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of our favourite places to eat.
A traditional shop in the centre of the village. There's a delicatessen offering cheese and meats alongside baked goods and local produce including wine.

Lovely well stocked village store
This little village store was delightful. It had so many items on sale and the deli was superb. We bought items from there several times which we ate in the garden in the evening with a bottle of wine.
This fabulous pub has it's very own farm which supplies all the local ingredients used in the menu. With traditional interiors and a gorgeous outside space for al fresco dining, call in for lunch or dinner.

Lovely in every way
Great food, in a wonderful setting
Ideally situated in the centre of the village, The Eight Bells is a traditional village pub with cosy interiors and pretty landscaped gardens. During the summer months you can enjoy a barbecue in the sun, the perfect holiday pastime.

Could do a lot better
Friendly and helpful service with good food BUT the toilets are appalling with very old stained floor lino. I always judge a pub/restaurant by the state of its toilet facilities.
