KingIf a stunning property with original features along with contemporary design in the heart of a Yorkshire Dales market town sounds attractive then Grove Villa is the place for you. This spacious, semi-detached, three-storey Victorian house is a perfect choice for a family or group of friends looking for a break in the Dales.
Step inside to discover the restful sitting-room; you can easily imagine yourself unwinding here after a day exploring the beautiful countryside on the doorstep. Sink into the comfy sofas and armchairs, cosy up in front of the wood-burner effect gas stove on cooler evenings and admire the stylish touches mixed with the original features. The modern, spacious kitchen provides everything you could wish for to cook up a feast, including a breakfast-bar and two ovens.
Head upstairs to the first floor where you can choose from three stylish bedrooms, one en suite and a further bathroom and shower-room. All bedrooms are exquisitely designed with comfortable beds and luxury linens. The large bedroom on the second floor is bathed in light from the Velux windows, however due to the narrow, steep stairs and sloping ceilings it may not suitable for everyone.
Outside the garden is a fabulous spot for al fresco dining, with a paved terrace and plenty of garden sofas to relax on. Not forgetting the comfortable summer-house, great for getting away from it all.
There is private parking for one small car at the rear of the property and additional parking may be found in the car park at the front.
As Grove Villa is situated in the heart of Leyburn, it is only a few steps to all the local shops, bars and restaurants this traditional market town has to offer. On market day you can pick up some local produce or just stroll around the busy stalls.
For those who would prefer to get out into the countryside you can walk the Shawl in the footsteps of Mary Queen of Scots straight from your doorstep. The surrounding scenery is absolutely stunning so get out your walking boots and explore the area, maybe touching on the Pennine Way or dipping into one of the many pretty villages nestled in the hills.
For waterfalls take a walk along Aysgarth Falls or pop and see the dramatic Hardraw Falls, England's highest single-drop waterfall near Hawes. Visiting the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes is a must for cheese lovers. You can visit the factory which has been making cheese since the 16th Century and then you can taste the cheese before stopping for lunch at the cafe.
For history buffs there are castles galore starting with Middleham Castle, once home to Richard III. And while you are visiting watch out for the racehorses which train on the hill above. Castle Bolton is also well worth a visit.
