As the sun sets on a relaxed day climb the stairs where you will find both oh so pretty bedrooms. Each room offers a sense of calm and relaxation thanks to their muted tones, crisp white linens and inviting beds. Bedroom two requires those taller guests to mind their heads on the sloping ceiling but that's what character is all about. The spacious family bathroom offers a little luxury thanks to the fitted rainfall shower over the free-standing bath.
The small and intimate courtyard to the back of the barn is the perfect spot for a barbecue or a sundowner however you can open the garden gate and explore a further five acres of garden and meadow which the helpful, yet discreet on site owner can help you with should you need pointing in the right direction.
Attached to The Hayloft and sharing the parking-area is the equally charming The Threshing Barn (5733), making this the perfect option for an extended party or multi-generational family stay!
Dartmoor is home to Castle Drogo, a fabulous 20th Century castle and gardens designed by Sir Edward Lutyens and overlooking the Teign Gorge. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the miles of wilderness and stunning views waiting to be explored either on foot or bike.
The north and south coasts of Devon are equidistant away, with the gorgeous beaches of Widemouth Bay, Braunton and Woolacombe being a mecca for north coast surfers and the gentler south coast shores of Exmouth, Teignmouth and Shaldon perfect for family beach days.
Treating the little ones to a spot of rock-pooling or body boarding at one of the many beaches at your disposal will go down a real treat. You have several sandy beaches and hotspots to choose from, from the very popular beaches at Bude and Widemouth Bay, to the charming and bustling coastal villages of Westward Ho! and Appledore.
Should you wish to travel a little further afield catch a train to the beautiful Cathedral City of Exeter from Okehampton train station, this fabulous city offers a great day out should you fancy a touch of shopping followed by a spot of fine dining, you are truly spoilt for choice on both.
