KingCome and explore this deceptively spacious and rather special pretty stone cottage in the heart of the west Devon village of Northlew, a friendly sociable village on the edge of Dartmoor. With so much beautiful scenery to see, don't forget your walking boots and bring your four-legged friend, dogs are very welcome. Willow Cottage offers a fabulous holiday abode for a family, couples or even a solo adventurer.
This lovely home-from-home is the perfect base to spend time together relaxing on the comfortable sofas in the welcoming stylish living-room, complete with cosy wood-burner for those cooler days and evenings. Enjoy time with friends and family planning trips out to visit the north coast beaches of Bude and Widemouth Bay, deciding what time you want the fish and chips delivering from the local pub or which walking route to take tomorrow.
Sit back to appreciate this charming and characterful space, with original cottage beams above running the length of the space through the dining-area and to the stylish modern kitchen beyond. This is a sociable space where you can talk to the chef whilst they prepare and cook a feast using the freshest of local produce found right on your doorstep, courtesy of the organic veg bus which makes a stop in the village every Friday, offering fresh vegetables, sweet treats and much more to tempt your tastebuds!
Willow Cottage may not have a garden, however the sheltered little courtyard to the rear of the cottage is the ideal spot for a morning cuppa or an evening drink before you head out to dinner at the local inn or let the chef of your party rustle up a Texas feast on the barbecue.
When slumber calls, climb the stairs to find one of two comfortable and inviting bedrooms, the first a spacious room with a flexible 'zip and link' super-king bed and en suite toilet, the second a smaller but equally as lovely king-size, both dressed in fresh white linens and furnished with care to create a calm, relaxing haven to dream and recharge each night. The bathroom can also be found on this floor, take a quick shower or spend time chilling out in the tub, the choice is yours. Rest assured no detail has been overlooked and your comfort has been taken care of when staying at Willow Cottage - you simply won't want to leave.
The wonders of Dartmoor National Park are waiting to be discovered and right on your doorstep once you have explored the many rural walks straight from your front door. With miles of walking in this National Landscape (formerly known as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), wild swimming and mountain biking along the Granite Way, you are sure to find a fun day out with ease.
The quaint, unspoilt market towns of Okehampton and Tavistock are a short drive away and offer weekly pannier markets alongside boutiques, tea-rooms, and independent shops. Sitting equidistant between both the north and south coast, a day out to the renowned beaches of Widemouth Bay or Bude would be great fun for all the family.
Also, on the north coast you'll find the Tarka Trail, which offers peaceful walks along the River Torridge all the way to Barnstaple and beyond. There is also a wonderful array of castles and monuments to discover, with Tintagel and Castle Drogo proving to be the most popular.
