Freshfields is a truly outstanding property in a picturesque Dorset village. Recently renovated throughout, the house provides space and privacy for all the family. Just a short drive from the Jurassic Coast and enveloped in glorious countryside, Freshfields is a memorable place for your holiday.

Once you have parked up on the large driveway, head in through the front door and you will instantly feel the quality and homeliness of this house. A spacious hallway leads through to the 'nothing short of fabulous' kitchen/dining-room. Cooking up holiday meals in here will be a treat; the kitchen is excellently equipped and boasts an island unit with breakfast-bar, so you can take a pew and chat with the chef of the family. The table will comfortably accommodate everyone so you can take time for slow meals, catching up with each other. Just off the kitchen/dining-room is a sweet conservatory, a perfect spot in which to curl up with a good book or indulge in that fresh coffee.

From the kitchen there is a door leading into the sunny sitting-room, which has patio doors out to the garden and a cosy wood-burner, making this room ideal no matter the season. Kick back on the comfy sofas and take in the dual-aspect view of the garden and fields beyond. Completing the ground floor is a useful utility-room and separate shower-room and WC, both of which have been renovated to the same high standard.

Once upstairs you will find four wonderful bedrooms, each so beautifully styled and inviting. On one side of the landing there is a pretty bedroom with dual-aspect windows and a king-size bed, a double room with countryside views and the family bathroom, complete with a fabulous, big bath. Meandering your way to the other side of the landing (admiring the gorgeous light fitting on the way), there is a spacious single room and the main bedroom with super comfy king-size bed and en suite shower-room. Your comfort has been at the forefront of this renovation and each bedroom has ample storage and hanging space, meaning you can unpack and relax… perfect.

The outside space at Freshfields wraps around the whole house, meaning you can chase the sun all day. To the rear there is plenty of lawn space and a sun-trap of a patio, where a table and chairs/benches are waiting for you to serve up al fresco meals on. Picture yourself with a glass of fizz in hand, soaking up the sun's rays and taking in the view of the field behind the garden. A fantastic bonus of this house is the table-tennis table (bats and balls provided) that is tucked away in the car port - perfect for keeping the family entertained.

Buckland Newton is a thriving little village right in the heart of the Dorset countryside. There is a fabulous pub, The Gaggle of Geese, which is a 10 minute walk away and has large gardens, a skittle alley and serves great food. A well-stocked village shop is also a five minute walk away from Freshfields so you can collect any essentials and local goodies.

Sherborne, the ancient abbey town, is a short drive from Freshfields and is well worth a visit to look at the beautiful architecture and weekly markets. It was recently voted the best place to live in the south west and when you visit, it is clear to see why. Browse the numerous independent shops, including the emporium style Antiques Market to pick up some treasures. Once you're shopped out, head to Cafe D'Urberville for coffee and delicious cake or cocktails in the evening.

The county town of Dorchester is a 20 minute drive away and has an array of shops and riverside walks. If you're a beach lover then the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site is less than 20 miles away. This epic stretch of coastline has everything you could desire - from sandy beaches at Weymouth to clifftop vistas in West Bay. Take a boat trip and maybe spot some dolphins or relax in a seaside cafe sampling some local seafood… holiday bliss.

The farmer will occasionally need access into the field behind the house, via the five-bar gate at the top of the drive, so please keep this clear at all times.
