An enchanting, dog-friendly, original whitewashed farmhouse, sleeping four, nestling on Strumble Head peninsula in the magnificent Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Take in the breathtaking, panoramic coastal views towards St David's Head and Strumble Head. Behind the cottage is Garn Fawr Rock, a rocky volcanic outcrop, with magnificent, far-reaching views of the majestic north Pembrokeshire coast. Ideally located to explore some of Pembrokeshire's spectacular beaches, Abermawr and Aberbach are nearby, and discover the nearby coastal path. A heavenly Pembrokeshire holiday is promised in this idyllic Welsh retreat.

Step inside the gorgeous cottage, where history, exposed beams and original features blend sympathetically with tasteful style and comfort. The dreamy settle for two in the inglenook fire next to the wood-burning stove is bliss. Peep out to sea through the tiny cottage window. Relax together on the comfortable sofas after a day exploring the sheer beauty of the surrounding area. The dining-area is a delight with exposed beams, ornamental fireplace and the sweetest window seat to take in the captivating sea views. Gather around the table for unhurried holiday meals, board games on rainy days or for hearty breakfasts before the day's adventures begin.

The holiday chef will love the large galley-style kitchen with slate floor, cream country-style units and all the equipment to cook up holiday feasts. Leading from the kitchen, up two steps, is the sunny conservatory, with slate floors and cane furniture. The perfect spot for time out with a good book. The useful utility-room is accessed via the conservatory and houses a Belfast sink, washing machine and tumble-drier.

After swimming in the sea, take a hot bath in the ground floor bathroom or a shower if you prefer. Off the foot of the stairs is a charming little nook, with a desk, books and lots of local information. At the end of a perfect Pembrokeshire day, climb the stairs to the two peaceful bedrooms. Gaze out to sea through the cottage windows from both bedrooms, a king and a twin. The calming ambience created with pastel hues, comfortable beds, quality linen and Welsh furnishings promise the best night's sleep. Why not watch a film before dropping off or choose one of the books from the landing bookcases, there's even a comfortable armchair.

From the lawns surrounding the cottage on three sides, spend time in the fresh sea air. As the magnificent sun goes down, dine al fresco, Garn Fawr is a Dark Sky Discovery Site, an officially recognised site to stargaze. Perfect on a still, summer's night. You may even glimpse County Wicklow across the sea.

Tal y Gaer is one of three properties located on the farm. The other two are Swn y Morloi Cottage (5657) and Ty Blawd (5658). Each cottage has been built with complete regard for privacy and although on a beef farm you really would not be aware of this.

In springtime, the surrounding cliffs and the Garn Fawr Rock are covered in wildflowers and choughs, whilst peregrines and seals frequent the cliffs and bays surrounding the cottages.

Discover Strumble Head along the coast path, and view the Lighthouse, which stands imposingly on Ynysmeicl (St Michael's Island), an islet to the west of Fishguard separated by a very narrow gap through which the sea boils and froths in stormy weather. Within a few minutes of the cottage is Goodwick, with a sandy beach and play park for children. There's a promenade along the top of the beach and the breakwater is great for a walk. Dolphins and basking sharks are often seen swimming around the bay. The ferry sails from Goodwick to Rosslare, Ireland. There's a supermarket in Goodwick, fish and chip shop, pubs and a waterfront cafe.

The historic town of Fishguard, gateway to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, is just up the hill with an array of shops and eateries, try The Royal Oak or the JT Abergwaun Hotel for lunch. Look out for the hidden gems scattered throughout this outstanding landscape that blends the allure of the sea, dramatic coastline, Preseli Hills, ancient standing stones and the enchanting valleys, such as Cwm Gwaun. Look out for the world-renowned musical festivals in the town, including Aberjazz during the August bank holiday. Set within thirty acres of beautiful woodland and river meadows, Castell Henllys, an Iron Age village is worth a visit.

Take lunch at Melin Tregwynt, a delightful, whitewashed working woollen mill and browse in the mill shop. Just along the coast is Newport, whatever the season Newport's evocative landscape has buckets of charm and excellent eateries. The Carningli Centre and the Newport Collective Gallery are run by local artists and makers. Spend time on the Parrog or the sandy beach at Newport. The magnificent Cathedral in St Davids and the magical Blue Lagoon at Abereiddy Beach are great places to visit.

Throughout the year, the most memorable holiday is promised at Tal y Gaer.
