KingIntroducing a very special Topsham house indeed. Steeped in history and nestled on the riverbank of the river Exe. Boasting oodles of charm and external space, two private parking spaces and glorious waterside views, Strand Causeway is the perfect all year round retreat for families and couples alike.
Oozing with character and charm, this wonderful 17th Century house has been lovingly restored and refurbished to such a glorious standard. Spread over three floors, this magnificent house boasts two external areas, the first is directly attached to the house. A fully enclosed garden and patio provides the perfect place to enjoy the Devon sun, and a safe space for the little ones to let off steam. If you are residing in bedroom three on the top floor, you can also access this glorious sun-trap patio from your bedroom, as your patio doors open directly into and onto the patio and into the garden. There is a 'zip and link' bedroom on the first floor which can be made up as a king-size double or twin beds.
The second external area is rather special and takes the form of a summer-house and patio, which sits proudly next to the riverbanks of the Exe. This magnificent spot is perfect for really relaxing and unwinding, and should you have a keen eye for wildlife, the bird watching from this perfect spot is unrivalled.
Strand Causeway is nestled in the heart of the bustling town of Topsham. Topsham is bursting with fine dining restaurants and pubs, along with a top-class butcher and delicatessen, perfect for gathering any fresh ingredients for that special home-cooked feast. Not forgetting the fabulous collection of boutiques and independent shops which line the main streets. Once you have arrived at this perfect holiday location, you won't want to leave.
There is so much to do right on your doorstep, however to venture slightly further afield will deliver you at numerous attractions and hotspots which are not to be missed.
For the water lovers, you can kayak down the River Exe from Exeter quay, what a great way to really soak up the scenery. Especially as the cathedral city of Exeter is also home to a plethora of restaurants, pubs and history, and is most certainly worth a visit especially as it's only 15 minutes away via car. However, the train from Topsham will also drop you perfectly in the centre of Exeter ready for a day of shopping, dining and exploring.
Cycling is also a very popular activity to enjoy in this beautiful area. Taking the Exe estuary cycle path is a real treat and is suitable for all ages and abilities, what a fabulous family day out. Bikes can be hired locally, making exploring this splendid area on two-wheels especially easy to do.
Something slightly less active, yet equally rewarding is the bird watching opportunities your fabulous spot on the water provides. The River Exe estuary is teeming with wildlife and an exceptional collection of birds, watching all sorts of incredible bird species dance above the water as the sun goes down doesn't get any better.
Slightly further afield you have the beautiful sandy Exmouth beach, offering a real 'seaside' vibe. Many sunny days can be whiled away on this beautiful beach. To make getting to this wonderful seaside town even easier, you can take the train from Topsham which will drop you at the heart of Exmouth. A day out at the beach couldn't be simpler!
Other attractions nearby include Darts Farm, which is a day out in itself. Offering a vast shopping village and a large food hall along with a cafe, you can spend hours taking in the smells, tastes and welcoming atmosphere. You can also treat yourself to fish and chips at Darts Farm. It truly is a great day for all generations.
Whatever you seek from a coastal holiday, Strand Causeway and Topsham have it all on offer and much more. You will find yourself returning year after year to this amazing house and beautiful town.
