Wreckers Corner

Set in the heart of the sheltered cove of Porthallow, this stunning whitewashed cottage is moments from the sea shore. A prime location on the eastern side of the Lizard peninsula but just south of the serene creeks of the Helford River, where woodland meets coastline. There is plenty of parking on the road directly outside so take root by the sea and experience sublime escapism at Wreckers Corner for a fabulous holiday with friends and family.

Step from the sunny courtyard into the entrance vestibule, with plenty of space to kick off your walking boots or sandals and beach gear. From there proceed into the light flooded kitchen which is the heart of this beautiful abode and is fabulously appointed, with everything you would need. The natural light glides in through, giving an enchanting feel.

The sitting-room is situated at the front and has a comfy sofa to snuggle up on at the end of the day, there's a fantastic selection of books and novels to get stuck into. There is no TV in this room, just the sound of the ocean to aid your relaxation in an oasis of calm and tranquility. The cottage has been so well cared for and sustains gorgeous features. From its magnificent flagstone flooring to the textured walls and restored ceiling beams, all brought together with delicate styling and the most exquisite brass accents. The bathroom is also found on the ground floor and has a bath with a separate shower cubicle. Please note, as this cottage has been restored sympathetically to its roots, the shower door is slightly narrower than that of others.

Upstairs you will find three pretty bedrooms giving flexibility for four lucky guests. Bedroom one has a striking brass bed and there is a handy WC between bedrooms one and two. Bedroom two boasts plenty of space and a comfortable double bed, and perhaps the cutest of features unchanged is bedroom three, accessed down a couple of steps through bedroom two. Fall asleep listening to the sounds of the waves gently lapping the shoreline, so therapeutic.

There is a private gated garden parallel to Wreckers Corner which comes alive in the spring with gorgeous shrubs and foliage, it's sheltered from the elements, extending summer into autumn and has a lovely table, big enough for the whole family to gather round for an al fresco breakfast, brunch or an evening supper.
