Sitting in gorgeous countryside, this 100 year old luxury sandstone cottage is just a stone's throw from Cowdray House and only a five-minute drive from the centre of Midhurst. It's the perfect retreat for couples, families and friends looking to explore Cowdray and all that Sussex and the South Downs National Park has to offer.

Beautifully furnished with comfort in mind, Costers Lodge retains many of its original features and countryside charm. As you step inside the front door you are greeted by a large entrance hall. Stairs will take you up to three bedrooms all individually decorated and each having their own en suite bath/shower room.

The open plan kitchen/living area really is the heart of the house, a space where everyone can socialise and enjoy quality time together. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a range cooker with gas hob and double electric oven, dishwasher, and Nespresso coffee machine. Doors open to the terrace and garden, a peaceful spot where you can relax and listen to the sounds of nature. There is a large table, chairs, barbecue and fire-pit, perfect for al fresco dining or a spot of star gazing.

Parking is beside the cottage, there is also an electric car charging station. Dogs will love staying here with an abundance of footpaths to enjoy including walks around the Cowdray Estate.

From the cottage you can walk to the Cowdray Farm Shop and Cafe (a must for lovely produce) or a little further into Midhurst, a bustling market town with an eclectic mix of independent shops.

Also located on the Cowdray Estate you will find Apsley Cottage (5148) and Challens Yarde (5149).

Two dogs are welcomed at Costers Lodge, a third may be brought on request.

Visit the Cowdray Ruins or the Lawns Polo Enclosure where world class polo takes place during the summer months. Throughout the year the Cowdray Estate offers a range of workshops and experiences to enjoy from alternative therapies including meditation, chanting, yoga and Pilates. There are also foraging walks, fly fishing, golf, gun dog training, simulated game shoots, polo lessons, star gazing and even a Bear Grylls Survival Academy.

Visit Goodwood, home to many international events including Glorious Goodwood, the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival. Explore Fishbourne Roman Palace, the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, the South Downs Planetarium, Tangmere Military Aviation Museum or for world class productions the Chichester Festival Theatre.

Sussex is blessed with historic houses and gardens to visit including Petworth House, nestled in a 700-acre deer park, Chichester Cathedral, the castles of Arundel and Amberley, West Dean Gardens, Goodwood House and Stansted House to name a few.

For a day at the coast visit West Wittering Beach, Bosham, Selsey, Bracklesham Bay or Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - a wetland that is a favourite with birdwatchers.
