Just a stone's throw away from the vibrant harbourside in the magical Roseland village of St Mawes, The Pilchard Shed is an oh so cute hideaway, tucked up a cobbled pathway and perfect for a romantic getaway or a solo retreat. From the moment you arrive on the Roseland Peninsula you will feel yourself relax into your holiday. Beautiful countryside and wooded valleys offer glimpses of the sea which culminate in a panoramic seascape when you arrive in charming St Mawes.

The Pilchard Shed could not be more centrally located, up a tiny, cobbled alley from the harbour. This gorgeous bijou abode has been cleverly crafted to optimise the small but perfectly formed space and from the moment you arrive you will be captivated. The cosy seating has a seaside theme, beautifully furnished in blue hues to match the location. A dining-table folds away and hangs on the wall when you don't need it, optimising the living space. Above the built-in seating, a gorgeous king-size cabin bed awaits up a ladder (please take care and mind your head) and the clever use of space continues with built in cupboards underneath.

The tiny galley kitchen packs a big punch with a combination microwave and fridge with small freezer compartment, perfect for ice cubes for your evening aperitif! The shower-room is through the kitchen, beautifully finished with fabulous mosaic tiles. Whilst there is no TV or outside space at The Pilchard Shed, the colourful harbourside is just moments away, so why not take your morning coffee or evening aperitif down the cobbled footpath and sit by the water's edge to watch the boats sail by, the perfect dreamy holiday pastime!

For larger parties or groups of friends why not book neighbouring Manor Cottage (4988) alongside The Pilchard Shed.

St Mawes is a fabulous place for a holiday and with a great selection of eclectic shops and bakeries close at hand a car-free holiday could be on the cards. The pretty harbour bustles with life; sailing boats, local fishermen, kayakers and paddle boarders all enjoy the calm crystal-clear waters here. The passenger ferry crosses the Carrick Roads so you can head to the maritime town of Falmouth for a change of scene. St Mawes also has a great selection of eateries, from fine dining to fish and chips eaten from the paper on the harbour wall and everything in between.

Up the road, St Mawes Castle stands proudly overlooking the bay and this English Heritage site is well worth a visit for the views alone.

Walkers should catch the Place ferry to St Anthony headland and head along the coast path to discover gorgeous beaches, hidden coves and pretty fishing villages. The Hidden Hut sits on the coast path overlooking Porthcurnick beach where guests sit side by side on wooden benches enjoying the finest of local produce with a view to match. Head for the charming village of Portscatho and enjoy your morning coffee and fresh pastries at Tatams overlooking the pretty harbour.

If you do decide to explore further afield you will be spoilt for choice. The mighty biomes of the Eden Project make for a fascinating day out throughout the year and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are magical, lost in time during WWI, reclaimed 30 years ago and now a glorious display of flora and fauna.

However you plan to spend your blissful getaway, The Pilchard Shed is perfectly placed for all your Cornish adventures.
