For a tranquil escape in a rather special setting, The Stables is just the place. Sleeping two, dog-friendly and tucked away in the glorious south Cornwall countryside, this cosy semi-detached cottage is sure to offer a peaceful holiday any time of the year.

All on one level, the lovely and light open plan living space has a Shaker-style kitchen, perfect for preparing delicious breakfasts and suppers with fresh produce from the local farm shop, a sweet dining-table and chairs, and a comfortable sofa with a wood-burner effect electric stove - quite a treat on those chilly evenings! Next door, you'll find the beautifully dressed double bed with a stylish en suite shower-room. And with peaceful surroundings like these, long leisurely lie ins await…

From the living space, the patio doors open out to the sunny terrace along with the large lawned area, shared with the guests of The Dairy (5238) next door. The countryside views here are rather special, just inviting you to sit back in the sunshine and soak them up. You're welcome to explore the beautiful woodland walks within the grounds, too.

The friendly owners live nearby, should you have any questions during your stay, and their two friendly dogs are likely to come and say hello when you arrive - the sweetest of welcomes, we think!

If you're looking to explore, you'll find many of Cornwall's hotspots within easy reach. Spend the day in the charming fishing town of Looe, perfect for exploring with its great selection of cafes and restaurants, and there's also a sandy beach if you fancy taking a dip. The picture perfect village of Polperro, has been relatively unspoilt over time , with its tiny harbour and pretty cottages. It's sure to charm you. There are plenty of coastal walks to discover too, offering breathtaking scenery and fresh sea air. Other magical coastal destinations to add to your holiday wish-list include the sailing town Fowey, the twinned villages of Kingsand and Cawsand and historic Charlestown.

For beautiful gardens and majestic houses, pay a visit to Lanhydrock, Port Eliot or Mount Edgcumbe and for dramatic vast open spaces, head out to Bodmin Moor. If you fancy something a little different, Plymouth is within easy reach and makes for a great day out. Here you can enjoy the delights of Royal William Yard, the Barbican and Plymouth Hoe and indulge in a little retail therapy.
