Bedroom 1
DoubleJessie is a gorgeous shepherd's hut situated two hours from London, tucked away down a long meandering path in a paddock between crab apple and cherry trees, with views of the Sussex countryside.
Beautifully crafted and thoughtfully designed, Jessie is surprisingly spacious. At one end of the hut there is a cosy double bed which folds neatly into the wall when not in use. There is also a wood-burner with plenty of logs to keep you warm during the autumn and winter months. The kitchen has everything you will need for a short break and has a large fridge, microwave with grill and plenty of crockery. Dine around the solid oak table or play board games if it is raining outside. At the other end of the hut is a lovely shower-room with a WC.
Outside as you step down from the hut there is a garden bench and a small table and chairs. Enjoy the local wildlife and observe the occasional sheep and cows or maybe stargaze as you sit around the fire-pit which doubles up as a barbecue, perfect for al fresco dining.
Less than a 10 minute walk from the pretty village of Sedlescombe, there is a well-stocked village shop and 'gastro pub' dining at the Queens Head.
1066 country and the High Weald offers visitors lots of National Trust properties, gardens, vineyards and coastal delights. Take in a tour and tasting at Sedlescombe Organic Vineyard or visit the gardens of Pashley Manor and Great Dixter. There are castles to be conquered at Bodiam, Hastings, Pevensey and Herstmonceux. Jump aboard the Rother Valley steam train or enjoy the coastal delights of the pretty town of Rye, the fishing town of Hastings, Eastbourne's coastal retreat, the majestic cliffs of Birling Gap and Camber Sands' mesmerising dunes.
