Zip and linkPerfectly positioned just a hop, skip and a jump away from the village centre and beautiful sheltered bay with crystal clear waters and sandy/pebble beach is Lowenna House. This gorgeous contemporary home is ideal for families looking for a traditional beach holiday or for a group of friends seeking a Cornish getaway.
The owners of Lowenna House have created a beautifully crafted home and this is evident from the moment you arrive. Spacious and light filled, the ground floor is home to an open plan kitchen/diner, perfect for socialising and with oodles of space for everyone. The super sleek kitchen has all the equipment you'll need to create a culinary masterpiece, and of course there's a dishwasher so no squabbling over the washing up here! There are thoughtful extra touches, such as a Nespresso machine (do remember a supply of your favourite pods!) The large farmhouse dining-table sits next to the kitchen and overlooks the garden with bi-fold doors leading out onto the wrap-around patio you can choose to dine inside or out, depending on the Cornish sunshine. A handy utility-room can also be found here, with washing machine and tumble-drier.
Two bedrooms can be found on the ground floor; a spacious double room with king-size bed, access to the garden and an en suite shower-room, perfect for rinsing salty toes. There is also a bunk bedroom which the children will adore, also with direct access to the garden. A family bathroom with bath and shower over completes the ground floor.
Climb the open-tread, turning oak staircase with glass balustrading to the first floor and you will discover a light, bright sitting-room with gorgeous comfy sofas and a wood-burner to keep you cosy in cooler months. Triple-aspect windows let the light flood in, and patio doors lead out to the south-facing balcony where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee or an evening sundowner with a view of the sea. There are two further bedrooms on this floor; a spacious room with king-size sleigh bed and en suite shower-room with double shower, and a twin room which can conveniently be made as a super-king double on request. A cloakroom with WC and wash-basin can also be found on this floor.
Outside, you will find ample parking for three cars and a wrap-around lawned garden surrounded by Cornish hedging, the perfect place for little ones to let off steam. There's a sunny patio with outside furniture and a charcoal barbecue so you can sit and enjoy outdoors whenever the mood takes. Lowenna House really does have all the ingredients for the ideal holiday. There's a handy garage for storing your water sport equipment with even a hanging rail for your wetsuits and the owners have kindly provided a variety of wetsuits for the smaller people in your party.
The Lizard peninsula is a magical place for a holiday and Coverack ticks all the boxes when it comes to a Cornish getaway. At low tide a crescent of sand and shingle appears, perfect for paddle boarders, swimmers and rock poolers. Wander around to the harbour and you'll find a slipway, the ideal place to launch kayaks to explore the beautiful coastline. The village centre has a selection of cafes where you can grab a freshly brewed coffee or perhaps an ice cream and sit admiring the seascape. The Paris Hotel sits at the end of the village, serving traditional pub food and an excellent Sunday lunch. Just a short drive away Roskilly's has an excellent restaurant and renowned home-made ice cream, made from the freshest ingredients from their very own organic dairy herd.
Beach lovers should head for the sands of Kennack or perhaps Kynance Cove, a truly dramatic coastline where Poldark would feel right at home. Further south you will find Falmouth, an eclectic town with a fabulous harbour and fascinating museum which tells the story of the maritime past of the area. A passenger ferry can take you over the Carrick Roads from here to the magnificent Roseland peninsula where you can spend the day enjoying the delights of St Mawes and Portscatho. However you plan to spend your holiday time, Lowenna House is the perfect base for all your Cornish adventures.
