With its charming beamed ceilings and gorgeous stone flag flooring, The Long Barn is the ideal home-from-home as you discover the secret joys of the Roseland's unspoilt Heritage Coast. Surrounded by stunning Cornish countryside this converted barn is full of character and has everything you could need for you and your loved ones to enjoy a relaxing escape to the seaside.

A delightful stable-door greets you as you arrive at the property; great for letting the fresh Cornish air flow through the barn in the summer evenings. Step inside and you'll find the wonderful sitting-room with its magnificent high ceilings and beautiful exposed beams. The space is beautifully furnished with comfortable sofas circling the fantastic centrepiece fireplace which houses an indulgent wood-burning stove perfect for those chilly winter nights. A fabulous Smart TV sits discreetly in the corner, offering a great source of entertainment after busy days out exploring.

Next door to the sitting-room you'll discover the homely kitchen/diner. Velux windows perched at the top of the wonderful dual-height ceilings flood the space with crisp natural light while the beautiful stone flooring gives the space a lovely cosy feel. Gather everyone around the dining-table to chat about the day ahead, or perhaps supervise the chef! The kitchen has everything you'll need to prepare delicious meals and nearby Curgurrell Farm Shop sells the freshest of Cornish produce so you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to creating a holiday meal to remember. Once you've finished, there's no need to worry about the washing up as The Long Barn comes equipped with a handy dishwasher that will sort all of that for you as you relax in front of the fire.

After a cosy evening, retreat to the main bedroom and enjoy a great night's sleep in this peaceful location. The room has characterful beams creating a snug atmosphere to dose off to and there is plenty of storage space for all your holiday essentials. A delightful bathroom makes up the ground floor, complete with an inviting bathtub and a separate shower cubicle. Upstairs the mezzanine area with exposed beams (watch your heads) provides a cosy home to the twin bedroom. This room is great for both children and adults with plenty of space to relax in before retreating to the snug single beds.

Outside the semi-detached barn sits a wooden picnic bench, perfect for al fresco dining in the long summer evenings, as well as ample parking for two cars. There is also plenty of gorgeous countryside right on your doorstep and you are welcome to share and enjoy the owner's paddock alongside the main farmhouse to exercise your dogs on a lead.

The Long Barn can be booked together with The Granary (5033) next door to accommodate up to six guests.

After you've taken in your beautiful surroundings, venture further afield to discover the endless walks, gorgeous beaches and pretty villages that litter the Roseland peninsula. Pendower beach is an eight minute drive away and a lovely sandy, south-facing beach which towards low tide joins up with neighbouring Carne beach to form a huge sandy beach stretching over a mile across Gerrans Bay.

The idyllic fishing village of Portscatho is only a short car journey away and home to a delightful little beach and plenty of independent shops. The Hidden Hut is also close by and a great place for al fresco dining, food is cooked outdoors and served on long tables overlooking Porthcurnick Beach (book ahead for feast nights, they are very popular!). Closer to home and within walking distance of The Long Barn is the 16th Century Roseland Inn at Philleigh, a traditional pub serving excellent food with a great atmosphere. Philleigh also boasts its own cookery school…from wood-fired cooking to baking bread, why not learn a new skill on holiday.

The bustling village of St Mawes has lots to offer foodies from fish and chips eaten from paper sitting on the sea wall to fine dining in one of several quality establishments and you will also find a selection of shops and galleries, all situated around the harbour. Water sports enthusiasts have a variety of options here with paddle boarding and kayaking being perfect for exploring the many surrounding coves and inlets. The maritime town of Falmouth can be reached by passenger ferry from the harbour, and this makes for a splendid day out exploring.
