TwinChalladene is a fantastic beachside property which offers panoramic sea views, a glorious outside space and beautiful interiors, not forgetting that the beach is literally a stone's throw away from your front door. This fabulous property really is the perfect beachside getaway for all generations.
The superb location of this wonderful house ensures that you will want for nothing. With a popular and welcoming pub just across the way, a beach shop and convenience store within a short walk from your door and an excellent fish and chip shop for extra convenience, you can abandon the car and truly unwind and relax in this magical spot, knowing all the holiday amenities and attractions are at your fingertips.
However, should you wish to explore this fabulous coastline, the beautiful town of Bigbury is just around the corner, boasting another beautiful sandy beach and Burgh Island. If you wait until the tide is in, you can enjoy a ride over to Burgh Island on the popular sea-tractor - the little ones will love it!
Heading out in any direction from this superb location will find you in many of south Devon's hotspots and 'must visit' villages and towns, such as Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth. You really are spoilt for choice.
Returning to Challadene after a day of adventure and exploration, or relaxation and sandcastles on the beach, sparking up the barbecue and finishing the day with a spot of al fresco dining whilst soaking up your magnificent views sounds sublime. Or on those chiller nights, light the beautiful wood-burner and cuddle up in the super-comfy and cosy living-room, perfect!
And for the teenagers of the group who desire that peace and quiet away from the main party, the Caravan is the perfect escape. The Caravan offers a place to hideaway from the main house, with the beauty of being just a stroll up from the main house to dine, play and relax.
Challaborough is a hub of activity, offering the ideal family spot for the homes which are scattered around the coastline and the holiday complex which is located behind Challadene. The beauty is, once you are within the gated area of Challadene, you feel like you're on top of the world.
Should you be able to tear yourself away from this spectacular setting, the neighbouring towns of Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth and Kingswear are certainly worth experiencing. Within a short car journey you can be at any one of these beautiful places, all offering something very special.
For your extra enjoyment there are some other rather special sporting facilities at your disposal. You could pop up to Bigbury Golf Club and put your golfing skills to the test (at the cost of the usual club fees) to name one. Or maybe you would just prefer to enjoy a Devon cream tea in the luxurious surroundings of the Burgh Island Hotel; if so, this is on offer with the hotel's warmest welcome.
There really is endless fun to be had in this very sought-after location. Perhaps a stroll along this staggering coastline is on your 'to do' list, if so - great choice! As you meander around these stunning coastal routes, please ensure the camera is close to hand as the views will be worth a snap or two!
Or perhaps someone in the group has a burning desire to learn to hand-surf; if so, help is at hand - only a short distance away is a very friendly and professional surf school, who are equipped to teach at all levels.
To finish off a special holiday, an evening out is always the way to go, and there is none more exciting or romantic than taking the sea tractor (at high tide) over to Burgh Island and treating yourselves to a spot of food at The Pilchard Inn. The Pilchard Inn has served fine food and wine for over 700 years. This characterful inn has been a favourite haunt with smugglers and local fishermen for centuries, so for one night (at least) we would certainly recommend taking a trip over.
Not only does Challadene offer splendid views and activities galore, it offers comfort, style and luxury coupled with a warm welcome and oodles of space. Challadene is a magical all year round holiday destination for all generations, which you will find yourself returning to year after year.
