KingIf uninterrupted countryside views enjoyed from a beautiful farmhouse with space for all the family sounds appealing, then look no further than Park Farm Cottage. This delightful, detached, stone cottage, nestled on the southern fringes of the Cotswolds is the ideal place for get togethers with friends and family.
An inviting kitchen, equipped with everything you could need, is a fantastic place to cook up some holiday meals and when the sun is shining, throw open the French doors that lead out to your private garden. Once the hard work in the kitchen is complete, head into the separate dining-room with feature fireplace - Sunday roasts in here with the family will be a delight. Original features in the sitting-room add to the character of this cosy room, perfect for curling up in front of the fire.
Four spacious bedrooms occupy the first floor and all of them have stunning panoramic views of open countryside. At the top of the stairs, the staircase splits and to the left is the main bedroom, that shares a dual access en suite with one of the twin bedrooms, making an ideal set up for a family. To the other side of the stairs, there are two further bedrooms (one double and one twin) as well as a bright and modern shower-room. Lovely soft bed linen and ample hanging/storage space in every room ensure you of a comfortable stay.
The outside space at Park Farm Cottage is quite special and comprises of no less than a large, enclosed lawn garden with patio, an orchard with an abundance of fruit trees and two paddocks, totalling some three acres. Children and four-legged friends will delight in the space to discover here (please take care at the end of the garden where there is a slight drop to a lower level). If exploring sounds a little too energetic then perhaps you'll enjoy firing up the impressive barbecue on the patio. Either way, everyone is bound to love this peaceful, off-the-beaten-track setting.
Be sure to pack your walking boots as there are a number of walks from the door of Park Farm Cottage through beautiful countryside; and if you're in need of a pit-stop then the friendly local pub is just two miles away. A short drive away is the beautiful 12th Century Malmesbury Abbey and while you are there, be sure to visit Abbey House Gardens too where the first king of England is buried. For the adventure seekers among you then a visit to the Cotswold Water Park is a must, with 150 lakes, alongside fantastic walking and cycling routes.
Further afield but easily reachable, are the exceptionally pretty and enduring Cotswold villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Kingham and Lower Slaughter (home of 'the most romantic street in Britain'). The honey stone cottages and charming, winding streets will tempt you back for many more visits and Park Farm Cottage can be your perfect rural base.
