Situated in the High Weald National Landscape within easy reach of the coast, this beautifully crafted Sussex barn is the perfect retreat for couples looking for a relaxing break in the heart of the countryside. The barn has been thoughtfully designed and you will enjoy preparing meals in the open plan living area where you will find everything to hand.

Beautiful oak flooring and under-floor heating throughout will ensure you are cosy whatever the weather. On those warm sunny days, fling open the double doors and relax with a glass of something whilst admiring the view. The bedroom is spacious with a king-size double bed, vaulted ceiling and en suite shower-room, with a large shower cubicle. You can even take in the views of the surrounding countryside from the comfort of your bed!

Hill Farm Cottage is the perfect place for a romantic getaway for those looking to enjoy some downtime. This peaceful location has more to offer than the usual holiday cottage, as the owner Helen is a qualified Iyengar yoga instructor. Why not book yourself in for a session in the studio nearby? Booking in advance is advisable.

Penhurst is a very old rural village with a duckpond, church and views towards the wooded Ashbourne valley. From the barn you can either walk or drive to Ashburnham where you can have a meal at The Ash Tree Inn; a lovely country pub which is popular with both locals and visitors.

The nearest town is Battle, mainly famous for its Abbey and the great battle of 1066 but also home to boutiques, arts and craft shops and tea rooms. There is also a mainline station which connects to Hastings and London.

If you enjoy walking, you are spoilt for choice as you are in the heart of 1066 country and the owner has thoughtfully provided some recommendations of walks in the area.

This part of East Sussex is blessed with so many attractions which are in easy reach; for garden enthusiasts, why not visit Great Dixter House and Gardens or visit the castle and observatory at Herstmonceux. If you fancy a day at the coast it is only a short drive to Cooden Beach, Pevensey Bay and Bexhill-on-Sea.
