A short lane leads up to Kumasi, a plantation-style detached house, with a south-facing verandah and a second terrace, housing a large teak table.

This property is very spacious with a ground floor twin bedroom, huge kitchen/diner with a kitchen island and separate, but equally large, sitting/dining-room, which gives access to the verandah and enclosed garden.

Stairs lead up to three bedrooms; one an en suite with an extremely comfortable super-king size bed and two doubles, as well as the family bathroom.

The house is airy and comfortable and has been recently renovated to make this a great big home-from-home. Named Kumasi by a Cornish mining engineer, William Blight, who went to work in Ghana; he built and named the house when he returned to Cornwall after his travels. There is original artwork around the property – much by G H Shepherd whose portrait is in the sitting/dining-room.

Bordering an eco-friendly smallholding, the property is rural and within easy driving distance of St Ives and Marazion. Land's End and the south coast are also close by, and with gorgeous beaches and harbour towns within easy reach, there will be plenty to explore from here.

If you enjoy walking, the footpath accessed at the rear of Kumasi is the Tinner's Way to Lelant. Bird watchers can pop down to Hayle estuary, the most south westerly estuary in the UK where you will find a wide variety of wetland birds. Also nearby is Marazion Marsh, the largest reedbed in Cornwall and home to an extraordinary number of birds, insects and mammals. While in the area - do pop over the causeway at low tide to St Michael's Mount or simply park up, buy an ice cream and watch the windsurfers on a blustery day as they race across Mounts Bay.
