Zip and linkWelcome to The Tractor Shed, a peaceful retreat for a couple or solo traveller plus a baby and a doggy, The congenial owner lives nearby should you need handy hints and tips of the best places to visit.
This solid detached little studio with original feature beams has been cleverly designed and is stylishly presented throughout. On the lower level, you will find the perfectly formed kitchen/dining-room with a handy breakfast bar for tea and toast and a separate dining-table for a more formal evening meal a deux. A modern white shower-room is also on the ground floor for your refreshing morning ablutions.
A few steps up to the mezzanine level presents a comfortable open plan sitting-room and bedroom-area with a gorgeous modern deep navy velvet 'zip and link' bed (super-king or twin beds), separated by a feature modern shelving unit. Relax into the comfy sofa and catch up with your favourite programme on TV or plan tomorrow's jaunts with a soothing tipple of your choice.
A beautifully enclosed garden entices you to the great outdoors, be beguiled by the golden daffodils as they sway in the spring breeze or simply relax in the warmth of the fire-pit. On a balmy summer evening, this is the perfect space in which to unwind, enjoy the sunsets and the peace and quiet of this charming west-facing garden.
With an abundance of walks from the front doorstep, your little canine pal will be spoilt for choice - right or left? It's a couple of miles down the road to St Michael's Mount and Mount's Bay and the vast, sandy Long Rock section of the beach is dog-friendly throughout the year. Or, if you enjoy a really good walk, don your walking boots, pack a picnic and take to the Tinner's path and explore this beautiful area by foot (or paw)!
Slightly further afield and via car rather than Shanks's Pony, Mousehole, St Ives and Newlyn are worth visiting, each with their own personality and each one perfectly charming in their own way. Do be tempted by the fresh fish or maybe a crab sandwich, a pasty or maybe an ice cream or some clotted cream fudge, it's your holiday after all.
For the more adventurous try paddle boarding, kite or wind surfing, all within two miles, or head to Sennen Cove a beautiful surfing beach, just ten miles away. Garden enthusiasts may like to visit Trewidden Gardens, or Tremenheere Sculpture Garden, The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno or Acorn Theatre in Penzance will delight those seeking some culture and those interested in Cornish history may enjoy visiting Geevor Tin Mine or Chysauster, one of the best preserved ancient villages in the UK, but do check opening times for each venue.
The Tractor Shed will provide a little sanctuary at the end of a busy day of exploring this wonderful part of Cornwall and hopefully refresh and renew before doing it all again tomorrow.
