Grand View really does live up to its name. The garden wraps around this gorgeous modern house with views across to Dartmoor and to the west. Tucked away down a lane, only a mile from the village of Denbury and a short drive from Newton Abbot, Grand View is incredibly stylish.

The open plan living area has a wood-burner for extra cosiness. Floor to ceiling windows show off the views and look out on the sun-trap patio, which runs along the back of the house.

The kitchen is stunning with a Falcon range cooker with induction hob and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy a relaxed family meal. All in all this is the perfect location for exploring the joys of south Devon and your four-legged friend is welcome too!

Upstairs, the lovely master bedroom has a comfy king-size sleigh bed and a small balcony, just right for a morning cup of coffee while watching the early morning mist clear as the sun creeps up behind. The other two bedrooms, both with en suite shower-rooms, are on the ground floor, perfect for someone less spritely on their pins.

Just a mile down the road are two good local pubs – The Jolly Sailor, which shows all the major sporting events, and a more gastropub, The Union Inn, on the green in Denbury village. And of course there are numerous beachside cafes, pubs and restaurants to explore all around the south Devon coast.

A recommendation in the summer is The Crab Shack at Teignmouth beach or take the ferry across to the pretty village of Shaldon, which has one or two excellent restaurants. Alternatively you might just wish to stay close by to this lovely house and enjoy the peace and quiet. Buzzards wheel round in the skies, horses and cattle graze in the distance and on a clear day you can see some of the Dartmoor tors.

The sunsets here can be amazing and there is a little seating-area at the far end of the garden where you can sit back and watch the sun disappearing in the west. For the ecologically-minded amongst you, this house is very green with a biomass boiler, solar panels and under-floor heating, so snug and cosy whatever the weather does outside. Grand View is a very special place for a very special holiday.
