The Dovecote

We loved our stay at the Dovecote in every way - the beauty of the building in its lovely garden setting, the driveway in made it so private and secluded, and having a space to park the car so close to the entry was delightful. We loved the Dovecote's location at Grittleton, so easy to access the M4 and all the beautiful places to visit nearby. And lastly, we so appreciated the loveliness and generosity of the owners Mark and Michele. Our beautiful stay at the Dovecote is etched into our hearts forever!...

This is a delightful property in a very peaceful setting. The property owners, Michelle and Mark, were very welcoming and the location was perfect for visiting places like Bath (use the park and ride), Lacock, Castle Combe, Corsham and Rodmarton Manor. It is highly recommended....

This is our first experience of hiring a cottage. The Dovecot more than allayed our fears. If it is indicative of other properties listed on your site, then your range of accommodations cannot be faulted. Mrs Lang greeted us warmly and quickly showed us around the establishment pointing out its facilities. She had provided us with eggs, butter, fruit and a range of pastries so we wouldnt go hungry. A bowl of handpicked flowers from her lovely cottage garden set the tone. The property was in a quiet, rural setting but convenient for exploring the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will, no doubt, be utising your website in future....

The Dovecote was a lovely conversion of two floors of an old dovecote with the interior of the second floor conserved with fittings (but no access for birds!) It was secluded, off-road, in the grounds of the owners property with convenient parking. Everything about the cottage had that extra bit of quality and class not normally found. The owners, on site, were a delightful couple whom we immediately got on well with and who could not have done more to ensure we had all we required, and made us feel really welcomed and comfortable. They contributed immensely to the pleasure of our stay. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage....

An attractive recent conversion of a Grade II listed seventeenth century dovecote - The ground floor open plan sitting / dining / kitchen works well and the kitchen area had everything we could possibly need for our week's stay including beautifully sharp kitchen knives ! OK the bathroom is tiny but the comfortable bedroom upstairs proved rather more spacious than in the photographs might suggest. Grittleton seems a quiet village, maybe a few distant lawnmowers, but I don't think we heard any traffic noise all week ...
