Beautiful period cottage tastefully furnished in a fantastic location beside a stunning sandy cove. All amenities are close by in the lovely village of Newport. A great place to stay.

A superb character country cottage, situated yards from the sea. Very comfortable with a lovely garden, tastefully furnished and all in all very good value for money.

We felt the website images were very misleading. The photos of the outdoor space do not accurately reflect what you get. For example, one photo shows the outdoor seating area, a beige stone cottage with an open door leading into a property. This is NOT the property you get. This property is separate. The actual property is the smaller, white section to the left of the photo. Once inside, the property, again the photos have been horizontally stretched to give the illusion of more space. Also, the upstairs shower room is in need of replacement. It really isn't up to expected standards. Our experience sadly wasn't great at this house. Upon arrival at 4pm we couldn't access the house. After a 5 hour drive with children this was frustrating. The key was not in the location we had been given. We tried calling the owner but had to leave messages. After approx 30 minutes she text me saying there were new arrival instructions which she had forgotten to send me or Classic Cottages. She gave me a keysafe code which turned out to be incorrect. I immediately tried to call her back but the phone rang out. I left voicemails and text messages and also called Classic Cottages. The owner finally replied with the correct keysafe code. It took over a hour to get into the property. Once in, we noticed very low water pressure but assumed it was normal for the property. When we woke on our first morning there was no water at all. We couldn't shower or brush our teeth. It turned out there was a burst pipe in the village. A neighbour kindly bought us a kettle of water so that we could at least have a cup of tea. Not an ideal start! The workmen arrived and we went out for the day. When we returned at 5pm the drive was blocked and we had to park further up the lane and carry our shopping back. Despite being told that the water company would keep us updated, we had no updates. The water pressure remained low all week making a bath impossible and a dribbley shower a very un-refreshing experience. On the 2nd night the owner did say that if we could fid a family room at a hotel nearby she would reimburse us but being a weekend in the school holidays everywhere was fully booked. We take 3 or 4 holiday a year and often use Classic Cottage but for the price, we do not feel this experience was value for money. ...

We were sorry to hear of your disappointed with your experience and we apologise for the confusion with the key safe. Whilst out of anyone's control, we completely appreciate the burst pipe in the village would not have been a great start, and we are sorry for the disruption caused by this. Thank you for your feedback about the photos. We try to ensure that the website photos give an accurate representation of the properties that we market and never intend to mislead anyone. Troed-y-Rhiw is the white cottage visible in several of the photos, and we have intentionally tried to include the adjoining property from the front and rear, as we felt is important to show customers its proximity, particularly to the terraced garden that comes with Troed-y-Rhiw. We are sorry if this has caused any confusion and different expectation of the property size. We hope that you still enjoyed exploring the local area. Julie, Customer Support...
