A wonderful location in the heart of Beaminster. Two really good restaurants, Brassica and The Olerod within a few minutes walk as well as 2 pubs and various coffee and lunch options. The cottage is small but beautifully decorated with a well appointed kitchen with everything you need if you want to cook one evening. A comfy bed and lovely bathroom. This was our second stay and we had a great week just relaxing and going for walks as well as excellent food and wine of course....

A perfect and absolutely beautiful gem of a cottage. The excellent attention to detail is obvious when you open the front door. The furnishings are of the highest quality and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need and more. The garden courtyard is a tranquil space to sit and relax and enjoy watching the Jackdaws exploring St Mary’s Church tower. Hearing the Church bells adds to the ambience of the cottage. Parking is not an issue. The location is perfect for exploring the area via the various footpaths around Beaminster and Bridport, Lyme Regis, Seaton and West Bay are only a short drive away. The Square has everything you need if you prefer to stay in Beaminster. We had an excellent Sunday roast at the Red Lion. Beaminster Museum is worth a visit too. The neighbours and residents we met could not have been more welcoming and friendly. We would highly recommend Fox Cottage. We didn’t want to leave! ...

We stayed 6 nights at Fox Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage is beautifully furnished and very comfortable, especially the bed. The welcome basket of a Dorset cream tea was lovely. The kitchen is very well equipped. The location is perfect to allow you to walk to the various pubs and restaurants in Beaminster. The small courtyard garden was lovely, listening to bell practice on Wednesday evening with a glass of wine was delightful. When we contacted Rachel, the housekeeper, the reply was very quick and helpful....

We had a great stay at Fox Cottage. The weather was mixed, but the cottage and Beaminster worked whatever the elements gave us. The cottage is fantastically positioned within the village. There are many lunch and dinner choices all of a high standard, some within 200 yards walk, some a 15 minute drive, although the cottage is fully equipped if you want to create your own meals. PS Yes there are Church bells but we thought they added to the charm of our break in Dorset, and didn't find them intrusive at all....

Fox Cottage is such a great place to stay. It has everything you need - a very well resourced kitchen with top quality equipment and even if you don’t cook while you stay it is a lovely place to sit and look out on the garden if the weather isn’t obliging or sit in the garden if it is. It’s easy to lose a few hours here! The living room is very comfortable and has lots of useful local information. The bedroom is big with a comfy bed and the bathroom is a real treat. The cottage is in a fabulous location - a stroll to the shops and pubs and the two excellent restaurants. You could easily forget about your car and enjoy everything just on your doorstep. I think I counted six places to have coffee not including the pubs and there is an amazing bookshop around the corner from the cottage. Footpaths go out from the end of the roads near the cottage up onto the Wessex Ridgeway and out to local villages over fields. Mapperton House and gardens is nearby and worth a visit. Parking was never an issue. I found spaces in the lane where the cottage is and just around the corner. It is rare to find a cottage that has it all but I really think Fox Cottage has. ...
