We could not have picked a more wonderful cottage. We wanted a relaxing and peaceful holiday and this place helped us achieve that. The location was so quiet and we could have looked at the view all day. The cinema room, record player and binoculars were particular delights, as were the curious sheep who loved to come into the garden. Our car coped with the track okay, but the condition in places might be more of a challenge for some cars....

What a beautiful barn! Set in the most stunning location where my company for an early coffee was just birds, sheep and ponies. So peaceful, no one else around but only a few miles from Camelford. Everything was clean, the kitchen very well equipped, the den in the mezzanine was a hit for film nights! Lots to do in the local area, many walks, beaches not far, a perfect place for our holiday. ...

A truly delightful property in an idyllic part of the world. It really is a special place to stay. We created a holiday tradition of watching films with drinks and nibbles in the mezzanine - something so different and fun (although the stairs are steep!). The barn is well equipped and everything is at a good standard, so you can relax from the moment you step through the door and see that incredible view. Its rural position lends itself to peace and tranquility, but you don’t have to travel far for lots of interesting things to do. Or enjoy the simple things - long walks, a trip to the beach and some stargazing. ...

We absolutely loved our stay at Roughtor Barn. The barn itself is cosy, comfortable, extremely well equipped, spacious and beautifully designed and furnished - everything we could’ve hoped for and more. The bifold doors and the outside decking area made this barn extra special for us, because outside the barn - well wow! The views over the countryside and to Rough Tor, the tranquility and the wildlife, are just amazing. We loved sitting out and absorbing it all. Before we arrived, we were a bit worried about the unmade road (for a short distance to the barn), but it’s decent enough and was fine for our car, which has low profile tyres. The barn is off the beaten track but a great base for exploring Cornwall. The nearest beach, Trebarwith Strand, is gorgeous and only a short drive away. We were very sad to leave Roughtor Barn and can’t wait to go back!...

This is the best holiday cottage bar none! We had a wonderful time and were so sad to leave. Everything about it was above and beyond, from the drive up through the Camel valley and moorland to the fabulously quirky decor of the cottage. The view from the cottage is stunning: 360 degrees of moorland and sheep, horses and cows wandering round. Endless great walks from the doorstep. And staying in on a rainy day is a joy, too - how often do you get a holiday cottage with an actual record player, a supply of great novels to choose from, and a film snug in the mezzanine? We would go back to Roughtor Barn in a heartbeat. Isabella, Fred and Trixie the border terrier....
