The Shute is a spacious, comfortable and homely house with a beautiful secluded garden and large terrace with magnificent sea views. The warm and cosy conservatory proved to be a welcome refuge on occasions when the weather was less than perfect. The owners are delightful people who provided a generous welcome pack containing local Isle of Wight produce, including Mermaid gin and Yates ale... and, of course, their famous freshly baked, still warm, loaf of bread. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Shute, and would love to return again soon....

The six of us stayed at the property for a week during August 2024. The house is stunning, and the views out across to the water are breathtaking. The house is well laid out with plenty of areas to sit and relax together or separately (if you want some quiet time then I recommend the very comfortable conservatory). The welcome gift basket was a wonderful surprise and a chance try some local delicacies, some of which we bought more of at the local shops. The welcome pack provided a vast amount of useful information and guides to the local area, restaurants, and attractions. The owners next door were very friendly and helpful, and their lovely dog provided a wonderful welcome. ...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Shute. The location in St Lawrence was idyllic, and the sea view you get from the patio terrace was phenomenal! The owners thoughtfully provided a welcome pack, plus in the fridge was local eggs, milk, and butter, and you get brought round a freshly baked loaf of bread on arrival! The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and appliances, as well as dishwasher tabs, laundry pods, and fabric conditioner. This property is a great base to explore the island from, and has all of the home comforts you would expect. ...
