We Just loved this little red riding hood cottage! We booked with classic cottages because being local we knew of people who have their cottages listed with them, and therefore knew of their high standards. Millstone cottage is one of the most beautiful places we have stayed in. For a start it was absolutely immaculate, not a spec of dust anywhere!!! We loved the large garden with plenty of different seating areas, apple trees and the little river that ran through it. Look out for the special Cornish serpentine stone built into the garden walls! The shower was very powerful, the oven easy to use, very pretty china, and the bedding was of a high count thread. The lounge was a more modern addition to the cottage with beautiful varnished wood floors and lots of sunlight. The cottage was so cosy we just hunkered down for the week and didn't move our car at all. Lots of lovely walks from the cottage (the walk to the beach is amazing) and guidebooks for these are available in the cottage. Well stocked local shop just up the road and a very lovely pub not too far a walk. We also took the footpath across fields to Terise Farm shop and cafe which provided a very nice and reasonable lunch. Lovely local gifts/crafts there too. The friendly owners are nearby if needed but I must stress that the cottage is very private and peaceful. If using the wood burner, do read the instructions provided as it was a little different to ones I have used before and when used properly the glass door stayed wonderfully clear. First bag of logs provided and then just £5 for a large bag after this. I could just go on and on and I literally can't wait until we can stay here again... It was a lovely cottage and really clean. In a fantastic spot feels very calm and off the beaten track but in fact is close to facilities if needed. Met the owner who was very friendly. Garden was lovely too. Perfect for my needs. Highly recommend.
