We loved our time at The Old Forge. The owners, Rob and Barbara were most friendly and welcoming, and the accommodation was of a very high standard. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, and we welcomed the log burner on the colder nights. The area around the cottage is very picturesque, and very quiet apart from the sound of running water from the river, which we all loved. This is an ideal base for visiting South Devon, with many beaches within easy reach. Dartmoor is just on the doorstep and there are many beautiful walks nearby. We also visited the Eden Project (around 1 hour 15 minutes away), Buckfast Abbey, Torquay, Kingsbridge, Totnes and Salcombe. Would highly recommend The Old Forge. ...

Despite the inclement May weather we still managed to have a lovely time at the cottage. Friendly owners who live next door and home made cake to greet us. Great walks from the cottage with Dartmoor literally just up the road. There are local shops in South Brent and they are walkable from the cottage via a good track by the river. Cottage cosy and we made good use of the log fire in the lounge in the evenings. Thanks for our first post lockdown holiday! ...
