The cottage is in a glorious setting on its own but not isolated. It is very tranquil with no light pollution. On a sunny day the garden and large outdoor table can be enjoyed, but even on a (typical) UK day with showers, it is wonderful to sit in the comfortable garden room and admire the view and countryside immediately around the property. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed daily walks directly from the cottage as well as plenty of outings exploring the surrounding area. ...

A beautiful house near many little towns and villages. However if you want privacy, then this cottage is not for you. If you appreciate strangers making free around the property (and waving at you when peering through the doors and windows) then this property is not for you. If you want a reliable source of gas to enjoy a barbecue as described, then this property is not for you. From being told that there 'is no gas available in the whole of the South West' to Classic Cottages being informed that there is gas and lo and behold a "spare" too!? There was no gas apart from the thirty seconds that flickered and then went out. The stairs are steep, with one rail to the right to help you navigate the thread bare carpet. If you prefer not to be hurt (particularly a child) on broken and cracked slate tiles, then this property is not for you. It's still a lovely house, but it is unfortunately obvious that so many faults have been left to pile up, which definitely takes the shine of this cottage and leaves me and my guests very disappointed....

I loved the setting of this lovely, light filled cosy cottage.
There is no need to drive once you have arrived as the beach and village are close by with beautiful coastal walking.
Mrs Ward March 2022
We had a great few days here made fabulous by the amazing weather. The cottage was comfortable, in a lovely spot with fabulous views. The kitchen lacked a few essential items and if there are more than 2/3 guests you will not be able to watch tv together. The sun room is a lovely room but needs heating or the sun on it to enjoy. We enjoyed exploring Branscombe, Beer (interesting walk to Beer on the coastal path and back over the top) and Sidmouth but were disappointed that one of the local pubs was closed for refurbishment. ...
