The biggest compliment we can pay Bussillion is that it is not at all like a holiday rental. It's as if a generous friend has loaned you their much-loved home for the week. The only clues that this is not the case is that everywhere is spotlessly clean and everything works faultlessly. Bussillion's commanding position overlooking the dramatic Fal estuary, with near and far rocky shores bounded by storybook hills, is just a beautiful expanse of watery loveliness. It's one of those magical views where lots of little stories constantly play out right in front of you. Row upon row of neatly tethered boats lined up all happily going nowhere, while the wooden ferry, that looks like it was designed by Walt Disney, weaves its way between them, heading back from the fishing harbour at St. Mawes. And that's a mere glimpse. With the ever changing light, this noble sweep of sea keeps you entertained for hours, especially if you pick up the binoculars. We loved the fact that from the front door we could walk everywhere, as well as cycle, catch a bus or hop on a ferry. Apart from a visit to St. Michael's Mount, the car stayed in the garage. Just a tip about that - if you have a long SUV, jiggle a bit and park across at an angle. However, I think the cherries on the artisan, organic carrot cake, (this is foodie Falmouth after all), are the simple things: care, kindness and a personal approach. Cornwall has dozens of holiday companies, all with a blizzard of properties on offer, all making choosing a headache. After browsing a few, it was pure relief to land on Classic Cottages and talk to a real person who was happy to have a real conversation and actually help us find what we were really looking for. In that first enquiry call, I just happened to mention in passing that this holiday was to celebrate a very special anniversary. When we arrived on the Friday evening, we were welcomed with such thoughtful gifts they brought tears to our eyes - well my wife's actually, I had a bit of dust or something in mine. At a glance, Bussillion is a Victorian terraced house in the middle of a street of Victorian terraced houses, by that definition one of many. And yet the owner has managed to create somewhere that is unique and incredibly special, somewhere with that indefinable and elusive quality with no name. After a week, you simply don't want to leave. So thank you Jill and Classic Cottages, we really appreciate all your hard work. Our week in Falmouth has given us a memorable life moment and we are very grateful for all the treasured memories. Thank you. Mr & Mrs Fox...

A very comfortable and well equipped house with beautiful views of the Fal Estuary.

Lovely immaculate house with excellent views. Falmouth is well worth a visit.

A wonderfully appointed house in a fabulous location. Thoroughly recommended.

We have stayed in this property before and find the location and ambience perfect. The house is beautiful and three couples could be accommodated easily. Hope to be back soon.

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed in this cottage, with the few exceptions stated in our Review Guidelines.
