Picturesque whitewashed cottage, the front garden is a riot of scent and colour. Access is down a private hydrangea-lined estate drive, the car can be parked right outside the cottage. On windless days, only the birdsong and occasional noises from the farm break the silence. Ideally situated for exploring Cornwall's most westerly peninsula. The SW Coast Path with its stunning sea views is just half a mile away, down the lane at St Loy's Cove. Lamorna and Porthcurno (swimmers and boarders will love the beach there) are within the reach of earnest walkers. For visitors wanting to roam further afield, Penzance, Newlyn, St Michael's Mount, St Yves and even Truro are easy drives. Land's End is crowded, tacky and expensive. Best avoided. Prefer Gwennap Head or Cape Cornwall. Care is required on the narrow surrounding roads where motorists will have to confront oncoming farm vehicles, camper vans and even double-decker buses. The accommodation is light and airy, comfortable but compact. Good for a couple who are out all day. The owners are friendly and helpful and the flowers and Cornish cream tea are a nice welcoming touch. The chief drawback is the extremely low ceiling in the only bedroom. This is passingly mentioned on the website but visitors should be aware that grown adults can only stand upright in one small spot in the middle of the room and must bend double to get in and out of bed. If that is not a deterrent, then Coach House Cottage is a lovely place to escape to....

Maggie and Tim were fantastic hosts who have done the cottage up beautifully with lots of lovely art and ornaments that added warmth and comfort without being cluttered. The cottage was well equipped and the local information really good too. What a lovely part of the world for us to visit. Excellent jumping out point for day trips and beautiful walks. We would definitely recommend a stay here. Big pats to Sky the dog for her warm welcome too. Thanks guys, Helen and Kiernan from Melbourne Australia. ...

Mrs Mathews February 2023

We had a few days stay at the beginning of March when the camellias and daffodils were in bloom and it was lovely. Cottage is very cosy and warm and as described so we were very pleased. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay and even the little electric effect log burner was a very welcome addition on an evening to ‘cosy up’ the lounge even more. The welcome pack cream tea was delicious and very much enjoyed ?? as were the vases of fresh daffodils. Such a lovely personal touch. We did not want for a thing. From the cottage there is a quiet walk along a lane with a sea view either to a cove or through some very pretty woods. I imagine the bluebells must be stunning when in bloom. On a personal note - take the torch ?? (supplied in kitchen) if venturing out at night to star gaze with your four legged friend because the darkness is complete! But Penzance minor injuries unit if required are amazing!!! Apart from a sprained ankle we had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall. ...
