Well positioned cottage for walking to the beach and coastal paths. Cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. A good stores in the village providing freshly baked pastries and pasties. Good pubs providing good food too.

Lovely thatched cottage in a super location just yards away from two pubs, a pizza restaurant and local shops. Very warm and cosy. The parking space was most welcome as parking is difficult in the village. We will certainly be returning to this cottage....

The Hermitage is the perfect location for a stay in Crantock and is well appointed for long days on the beach, plenty of space for all your beach stuff and easy access to the village shop and pubs/restaurants. Really comfy and cosy, almost don’t want to give a good review so it’s always free for us to stay!...

Be careful if you are 1.80 metres or taller! The beamed ceilings are very low.

Sadly I won’t be booking the Hermitage again although we have rented it multiple times. The Hermitage is now, in my opinion, well overpriced and in 2025 the same week is £1942 . This price to me is unacceptable. The fridge door is rusty and dirty, the handle for the outside shower is broken off and unusable due to rust. For a beach holiday it’s pretty essential it actually works. The blinds in the kitchen are mouldy. The windows upstairs don’t close due to lack of basic maintenance. The doors on the equipment room don’t shut and are split. The outside gate is difficult to close for some. Despite the fact the cottage is beautiful to look at there are just too many things as well as the above that have been neglected, are dirty and or worn out so to continuously put the price up year on year is really unpalatable. I am fully aware of the current cost challenges of a rental portfolio but passing all of those costs onto the consumer isn’t always in the best interests of good business practices. There are other properties to enjoy in Crantock that I feel are worth their asking price....

Thank you very much for reviewing your stay at The Hermitage. We are so sorry that you felt disappointed with your most recent stay and feel that the price is too high. Upon your feedback, all of your highlighted points were investigated by the Area Manager and the owners are going to be completing the required work over this winter period. The Hermitage is very busy in the summer, and this can mean that general wear and tear happens at a much faster rate. However, all properties should be well maintained and cared for, so your feedback has been invaluable for us. It is really disappointing that you will not be staying at The Hermitage again. I can only hope that after some TLC is applied you will consider staying again and continuing to make those amazing family holiday memories. Chloe, Customer Support. ...
