A Great Find
We chanced on this pub as holidaying just down the road at Reysons Barn. Lovely people. Lovely food. Lovely atmosphere.
In the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this 17th century free house offers a warm welcome and traditional good pub grub. You'll find oak beams and an open fire to keep you warm in winter, your dog is welcome and there's plenty of parking.

Fab Sunday roast
Great pub for a pint and Sunday lunch. We booked ahead (recommended). Very clean and thoroughly enjoyable roast and generous pudding. Loved it.

Great food and in a quiet area. Friendly and efficient staff.
The family seat of the Ashburnham family for 400 years, Ashburnham Place is now a christian retreat with grounds which are open to the public free of charge. The gardens were designed by Capability Brown and are a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the peace. The Orangery offers refreshments.

Orangery cafe and beautiful manicured grounds. A lovely place to chill.
Spend an hour or a day in this peaceful woodland. Just outside Battle, there's acres of tracks, perfect for walkers, horse riders and cyclists. Take a look at the Woodland Trust website link for further details.
A traditional pub offering cask ales from local breweries and home cooked food. Walkers, families and dogs are made very welcome and there is outside seating in the garden for al fresco dining.
