Set within Christchurch Bay, Milford on Sea's beaches offer sea and shore a stone's throw from lots of amenities, shops and eateries. Mostly pebble and shingle, the beaches enjoy stunning views of the Isle of Wight, particularly beautiful on a clear day. Caution is advised while swimming as there is a fairly steep shelf and no lifeguard cover.

Nearby town
What more could you want in a market town, being situated waterside on the edge of the New Forest? Lymington is a pretty Georgian town with its open air seawater bath and marina that sailing enthusiasts flock to from all over the world. If watery pursuits are not your thing, the ancient landscapes surrounding the town are areas of outstanding natural beauty and Sites of Specific Scientific Interest. Or pop on the car ferry to the Isle of Wight.

The original station was transformed into a restaurant in 2014 and is now open for lunch and dinner throughout the year. This is a popular spot for walkers and cyclists and dogs are made very welcome. Give them a call for opening times before you go as they don't open every day during off season months.

Fantastic meal and a nice location for a bit of birdwatching
We had some great burgers and a delicious roast duck leg with a savoury waffle (loved the sauce too!) What a great location! Shame it was too cold for us to explore the wetlands and foreshore, however still managed to spot a few interesting birds on the way back to the town centre. Dogs are welcome too, which is a bonus, and they can even sample some "doggy treats"
On the north-west coast of the Isle of Wight, this bustling small town has lots to offer incuding the longest wooden pier in England dating back to 1875. You will also find some lovely cafes, an eclectic range of boutique shops, cobbled streets and a fabulous Tudor Castle. The Wightlink ferry arrives and departs to and from Lymington here and it's a great place to watch yachts and ships sail by.

Great Atmosphere
Ate here twice during our weeks stay in Seaview. Even though we hadn’t booked the first time we went, which was a busy Saturday lunch time and we were a party of 6 including a 3 year old, we were given a warm welcome and seated with no problems. We had great service and the food was delicious on both occasions. We booked for our second visit as it seems to be a very popular place, understandably given the quality of the food and the service. Very family friendly too with a great buzzy atmosphere, would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent food and great staff
This is a great place to eat as it has some lovely dishes and has a specials board. We tried the sea bass which was so nice we returned for a second helping! Our party also tried the fish of the day which was a whole sea bream, again delicious. The shell on prawns, the fish and chips and the crab ramekin were also really nice and the bread served here was gorgeous and you get plenty of butter. The chocolate brownie dessert was a triumph too. All of this, plus it is dog friendly! Definitely recommended to try.

The Old Fort Seaview
Lovely seaside pub with outside sitting area. Enjoyed the food, but you do need to book ahead as they get very busy and its OK to sit outside if it is a balmy summer evening.

Nice but....
We never got to actually eat in this pub. We did try several times but we were either too late or too early and they weren't serving food and then on our last evening there we were told no dogs after 6pm so we couldn't get a table. To be honest we did rather feel that sailing club members were given priority over holiday makers and that we were a bit of a nuisance that is tolerated rather than encouraged.
A bijou village that grew around the original Abbey at the head of the Beaulieu River. An ancient and pretty monastery village, home to the country's National Motor Museum.
Ancient Abbey ruins were the centre of the village settlement and imparted its name. Now, Palace House is home to the Montagu family and there are exhibitions of monastic life with grounds and gardens to get lost in. Oh, and the famous motor museum of course.
