DoubleAt first glance, Bryn Teifi presents itself as a small traditional cottage with all its original features, yet behind the white-washed facade lies a bold, contemporary Scandinavian extension. This beautiful home offers deep comfort all year round, along with the advantage of being in an enviable location in Bwlch Tocyn on the Llyn peninsula. Just a ten minute walk along a grassy footpath from the house will take you to Porth Ceiriad surf beach or a fifteen minute stroll downhill and you'll be on the long sandy beach at the far end of Abersoch.
As you step inside Bryn Teifi, what unfolds is a spacious open plan living space filled with warmth, colour and artistic style. The sitting-area is rich in plush furnishings and character, with an original fireplace, log-burner and eclectic art from worldly travels. Far from typical seaside decor, this space embraces unique style with under-floor heating throughout, ensuring a cosy, luxurious feel. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range cooker, fridge, freezer, Sage 'Bean to Cup' ground coffee machine, Smeg appliances, dishwasher, granite surfaces and a feature terrazzo stone worktop. Scandinavian Crittall doors and picture windows bring a sleek modern touch, framing the garden and allowing plenty of light to flood in. Contemporary pendant lighting on dimmer switches over a French breakfast table and tram bench create a relaxed dining-area. This is a sociable space where friends can gather around the table or join in preparing meals together.
On the ground floor are two bedrooms both benefiting from incredible sunsets and red sky views. One has a double brass bed, oak floors and garden views, along a short hallway the other is a king-sized bedroom filled with natural light from sunrise to sunset. Next to this bedroom is a shower-room with stone sink, tiled floor, heated radiator and under-floor heating. Leading from the living space a secret door leads to a staircase; past a hat collection and up sisal covered stairs to the carpeted principal en suite bedroom with Velux windows making it light and airy. The en suite has a 'tubby tub bath' where you can watch the stars on clear nights and also features a hand-carved stone boulder sink, wood-effect ceramic tiles and a heated towel rail for added comfort. There is a separate WC next to the bedroom which is quaint and compact.
Outside, the terraced garden is a natural extension of the home's fine interior, with stone walls, oversized pots, trickle fountains, water features, olive trees and lush lavender and herb plantings. Patio seating creates an elegant space for relaxation. Based on tradition, the russet orange exterior cladding blends with the bracken in the area. A swing seat will be available weather permitting.
Bwlch Tocyn is located at the far end of the main beach at Abersoch with great access to facilities nearby. The well stocked local farm shop and cafe is a just one mile away and is open all year for hearty breakfasts, lunches and food shopping. Abersoch is a lively village with a good mix of boutiques, restaurants and an abundance of water sports, drawing visitors all year round. This location is ideal for those seeking unspoiled beaches, coastal paths, wildlife and fantastic surfing beaches, in particular Hell's Mouth nearby. The area also offers the opportunity for walks in mystical mountains and a breathtaking coastline.
