Hendy Cottage is a charming end of terrace, Grade II Listed Cotswold stone cottage situated just moments from Rodborough Common, offering stunning views over the Cotswold Way and the Golden Valley. This delightful retreat accommodates a group of four for a serene getaway, complete with a dedicated off-road parking space and excellent local amenities. The cottage features a lovely, enclosed courtyard with seating, which is sure to become your favourite sunny spot for enjoying a morning coffee!

Upon entering, you'll begin to feel at ease. The cottage is fully equipped with a traditional galley kitchen, which looks out via a stable-door to the pretty courtyard area. This really is a wonderful setting to relax and reconnect with loved ones, featuring an open plan dining-area with a large farmhouse table that flows into a bright, airy sitting-room adorned with stone feature walls and dual-aspect views of the valley. Cosy up during cooler evenings by the original wood-burning stove while enjoying entertainment on the Smart TV!

When it's time to rest, you'll find three inviting bedrooms for the flexibility of guests; a super-king size that can be converted into two singles upon request, plus two additional double bedrooms, all thoughtfully designed with scenic outdoor views. A spacious family bathroom boasts both a bath and a fitted shower for you to unwind, or freshen up before heading out for the evening.

For the more adventurous guest, it is well worth bringing your wellies, hiking boots or bikes to explore the surrounding area, recognised as both a biological and geological Site of Special Scientific Interest as well as a Local Nature Reserve. Keep an eye out for various wildflowers and several orchid species, including frog orchid, bee orchid and musk orchid. The common is adorned with beautiful grasslands, scrub, and woodlands featuring beech and ash trees, making it a haven for wildlife with over 30 butterfly species fluttering among the lovely wildflowers - look for the rare Duke of Burgundy and Adonis Blue.

Perched above Stroud, the Common also offers breathtaking vistas, allowing you to enjoy expansive views towards the Forest of Dean and the Welsh Hills on clear days. The town centre of Stroud is a short walk away, where you'll find plenty of bars, shops and dining options. Butterrow Lane is ideally situated for discovering numerous local businesses and independent shops. Just above the cottage, you'll find The Bear of Rodborough, which serves delicious local cuisine throughout the day, and on warm summer days, their gin garden offers unbeatable views. The nearby Prince Albert pub, just a stroll through Butterrow West which is lined with alpacas and sheep, offers local ales from Stroud Brewery, as well as great meat and vegan options on their burger and pizza menu.
