The Old Farmhouse is ideally located in the delightful moors-edge market town of Pickering, ideally located to savour all the delights that North Yorkshire has to offer. Start your exploring in Pickering itself. The 13th Century castle boasts, high ramparts, dungeons and amazing views. Move on to the North Yorkshire Steam Railway which runs from Pickering to Whitby through the moors and visits quaint stations along the way. Why not enjoy dinner or afternoon tea on the train but remember to book early.
Pickering centre is only a five minute walk away with its individual shops, cafes and restaurants offering fine dining, local dishes and of course, fish and chips. Take a stroll around the Monday market or indulge in hand-made chocolates or ice cream on a sunny day. Close by, Thornton Le Dale is a truly picturesque village with a stream running through the centre and perfect for photography.
