Stay in style at King John's Palace, a beautiful historic home close to the quintessential Cotswold town of Burford. This unique hidden gem is an historic Grade II* Listed farmhouse sitting on a scheduled ancient monument. With views over the surrounding countryside, this idyllic location offers a moment of quiet for those looking to enjoy a retreat from day-to-day life. Formerly a royal hunting lodge it's a special place to spend time with friends and loved ones. A historic home dating back in part to Tudor times it has been sympathetically bought into the 21st Century to offer all the modern comforts you need whilst reflecting its long history. Embracing its rich history and with extensive modernisations, this luxurious holiday home welcomes you, your family, friends and even your canine companions.

You will feel at home as soon as you step across the threshold - as ten previous Kings and Queens of England have done - just to know that you are staying where past royalty resided before you, is surely reason enough to come and experience this unique house. The Great Hall is now a fabulous and welcoming dining and kitchen space which is at the heart of this home, the six door Aga and wood-burner are just two wonderful features. A utility/dog area and spacious boot-room can be found on the ground level, so plenty of space to kick off your muddy boots and hang up your coats after a day exploring the wonderful surrounding countryside.

The ground floor also boasts a cosy snug room, office area and snooker room - complete with a delightfully fun Pianola - and for cosy nights in, you can enjoy the formal sitting-room which is just the perfect place to relax with an evening tipple in front of a roaring log fire.

The first and second floors comprise of six bedrooms, with three en suite shower-rooms, and a family bathroom; all beautifully furnished in keeping with the tradition and history of the Palace. The second floor is home to a spacious bedroom with a unique free-standing bath with private cloakroom.

The second floor is split level with a quirky games-room on the lower level and is the perfect place for the younger guests to let off some steam with a choice of board games, table-football, pool table, Smart TV and sofa area.

Outside the expansive mature garden provides numerous picturesque spots for relaxation, including a gas barbecue and sizeable patio ideal for outdoor dining on warm summer evenings.

Langley Farm is a working stock farm and you can expect to see sheep and cattle, lots of wildlife including barn owls hunting along the hedgerows, brown hares boxing in spring, and of course there will be some occasional rural aromas.

Guests can sometimes visit the farm by arrangement, and the location is also very close to Adam Henson's farm and the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. If you want to visit and take your picture at Jeremy Clarkson's famous Diddly Squat Farm, this is also just across the valley.

This haven in the Cotswolds beckons visitors to indulge in the pleasures of this idyllic setting. Why not enjoy afternoon tea amidst the garden's beauty, or for an extra treat you can book a personal chef, Mike Fishpen, who knows the kitchen well and will look after you like Kings and Queens (further details are available on request).

The property is within easy reach of Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Cheltenham, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the Wold, Cirencester and Bibury. Daylesford is also just across the valley as well as Soho Farmhouse. There is so much to do in the area for all ages. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, Bourton-on-the-Water and Cotswolds Farm Park to name just a few of the family attractions make this a perfect place to bring the children. You can of course come on your own or with friends, just to get away from it all and relax.
