KingTake the leafy drive that leads into the stunning Tresillian Estate where this little beauty is waiting to treat you and your loved one to a romantic getaway and wonderful escape from the everyday. It's the place to reconnect with nature and each other, and learn to take things at a more relaxed pace of life. Immerse yourself in the beautiful grounds, gardens and countryside that surrounds, yet with Cornwall's north coast only two miles away it's also a great base for getting out and exploring.
Step inside and you'll discover a home that's as welcoming as it is beautiful, carefully styled to create a retreat that invites relaxation from the minute you arrive. The open plan living-room is the main event with that all important wood-burner housed in the largest of fireplaces. Open stairs lead up to the bedroom with holiday lie-ins a shoo-in as you gaze out the window, admiring the beauty that surrounds.
Set on the edge of the courtyard across from The Apple Store (5714) and behind Tresillian House (5715), you are sure to enjoy gentle ambles around the grounds, picking fresh vegetables from the walled garden for your supper, lingering over leisurely holiday breakfasts on the patio, enjoying a set or two of tennis or why not pack up a picnic and a good book and find a private spot by the lake and settle down for the day.
Pack your walking boots, your flip-flops and maybe your wellies and make the most of this retreat that serves up the perfect mix of countryside and coast. Once you have discovered all the beauty of the Tresillian Estate, the coast beckons, whether you want to learn to ride the Atlantic Rollers on Fistral beach, dip in the sea at Crantock or laze on the golden sands at Polly Joke, this stretch of coastline is awash with great beaches - you are simply spoilt for choice.
To view the coast from a different angle head out along the coastal path and marvel at the vistas that appear before you or for a gentler walk, discover the Elizabethan Manor house and gardens at nearby Trerice (National Trust). The vibrant town of Newquay is close by and has much to offer. Gone are the kiss-me-quick days now there are delis, artisans cafes and street food traders to delight culinary connoisseurs. And for even more delights a day at Padstow is a must. The gateway to the Camel Estuary it's best approached along by bike along the Camel Trail.
The Cathedral City of Truro has a first rate theatre along with a museum, for those who want to delve into history and for garden enthusiasts a trip to Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan are a must.
