This cottage is an absolute celebration of its setting at Backswood, a working farm set on 150 acres of land, surrounded by ancient woodland. From its hilltop position, the panoramic views from the deck and the balcony will take your breath away. This semi-detached cottage has a perfect balance of warmth, style and luxury, making it the perfect all-year round choice for both couples and family celebrations. Especially as you have the popular town of Tiverton within five miles away, and the east Devon coastline within a short car journey.

In the cottage, the sitting-room has deep comfortable sofas and a wood-burning stove, perfect for cuddling up in front on those chillier evenings (all the wood is provided) and the kitchen has a suitably characterful farmhouse dining-table, the perfect space to enjoy any meal. Remaining on the ground floor, you will find bedroom one, a beautiful super-king size room with a fabulous en suite and glass doors to the ground floor decked area. Enjoying your morning coffee, soaking up the early morning sun is a treat beyond all others. On venturing upstairs, you will be created by a glorious king-size bedroom, also with a gorgeous en suite and a balcony to enjoy your beautiful surroundings from.

When it comes to enjoying your beautiful location, the owners have made this so easy to do. Firstly, you have a superb, shared summer-house, which is nestled into the hedge line, the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine in total comfort, whilst feeling at one with nature. The other rather special offering is 'Bunnies Garden'. This magical nature conservation area is home to a vast array of wildlife, from insects to birds and amphibians, a bee garden and bat wall. The beauty is this unique area is totally at your disposal, take daily strolls around the garden or possibly enjoy an evening drink at the fire-pit as the sun goes down, this incredible area will leave you in awe.

Why not enjoy this magical location with even more friends or family. The Pottery (5702) a beautiful retreat for two, is also available to book alongside Backswood Cottage.

Your holiday in this special location will keep you returning year after year, and to ensure that you make the most of your time at Backswood Cottage, the super helpful owners live within the grounds and are on hand to help with any holiday request, no matter how big or small.

Quite apart from being a beautiful property, Backswood Cottage makes the most of the sweeping valley in front of it with the large ground floor deck and the stunning first floor balcony.

Whatever the time of day or time of year, the views and the unique glimpses of wildlife from your own vantage point will delight you. The cottage is at the far end of the farmstead and so you will feel very private, but of course you are invited to discover more about the farm and its conservation area and to explore this amazing place.

The River Exe winds along at the bottom of the valley, tracks will take you through untouched ancient woodland and the top fields will give you views for miles.

If you can tear yourself away from this magical setting, the town of Tiverton is within a very short car journey away and is brimming with history and heritage. From historic houses and castles to several trails and cycle paths at your disposal, there are many ways to enjoy this fabulous town and area, you can even take to the water aboard a canoe, kayak or paddleboard if you wish.

You are also only within an hour from the heart of Exmoor National Park, a magical moorland stretching over 267 square miles, a day walking and exploring in this beautiful area is a must and most certainly worth the drive.

When you want to venture further afield, there are many local walks, country pubs and picturesque villages to be explored. Exeter is under 30 minutes away and is perfect for the shopaholics of the group.
