Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Yorkshire Wolds, this delightful cottage exudes rustic charm having been thoughtfully renovated from an original old farm building. The name comes from a beloved prize-winning cow of yesteryear.

Part of a small collection of holiday cottages set on the owners' farm, the cottage features an open plan living space that seamlessly combines the kitchen, dining and living-room spaces, creating a welcoming environment perfect for socialising and relaxation. With three cosy bedrooms, one on the ground floor, the cottage comfortably accommodates a family or group of friends.

Situated in a quaint village, it's just a short walk from the local pub offering the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience. The design highlights the building's original character, with exposed beams, a hand-crafted staircase and attractive stone window surrounds that add warmth and ambiance. The windows offer views of the gardens and courtyard and let in plenty of natural light.

As you enter Ruby's Retreat your eyes will be drawn to the large door which opens out onto the garden, on a sunny day the light streams in. The well-equipped kitchen is bright and contemporary and in such a social space the cook will have plenty of willing, or not so willing helpers! The dining-table is a true original made of one enormous piece of rough-hewn wood, it is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a tasty meal before heading to the sumptuous sofas where you can relax in the evening and plan for the next day's adventures.

When night time beckons head up the individually crafted staircase to the two en suite bedrooms, both boasting a free-standing bath where you can soak tired legs at the end of the day or just have your own special spa experience. For your comfort there is a double bedroom on the ground floor, just as pretty and with an en suite shower-room.

Outside a small courtyard garden with patio furniture provides a serene space for outdoor dining or a morning coffee, listen to the birds and start the day in relaxation.

Fangfoss is set in the Yorkshire Wolds with its wide open spaces, amazing landscapes and varied wildlife. From historical sites, or glorious gardens to the long sandy coastline there is something for everyone in this beautiful part of Yorkshire. Start with a challenging walk along the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail from Hessle to Filey, you don't have to do all 79 miles!

The wonderful city of York is close by and has so much to offer. Visit the National Railway Museum, walk the city walls giving you great views of the bustling city within. Climb Clifford's Tower or see the many museums, art galleries and exhibitions, York Minster is an impressive sight. Wander round the labyrinth of medieval streets, some now of Harry Potter fame. Eat at buzzing bistros, have a cake at world renowned Betty's Tea Room or treat yourself to a Michelin starred feast at Roots by Tommy Banks. There are parks aplenty to relax in, Deans Park, by the Minster and the Yorkshire Museum Gardens by the river Ouse.

The seaside towns of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby are perfect for a day out on the sandy beaches, enjoy fish and chips here, visit Whitby Abbey high on the cliff tops, or maybe search for fossils or whale watch.

The Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors are just the place for cyclists and walkers. And what's more they really are all year round destinations, summer days can be spent enjoying walks on the hills and dales and on long sandy beaches and as the autumn draws in, York becomes a city of twinkling shop fronts enticing you in with renowned Yorkshire hospitality.
