DoubleOh my, this gorgeous cottage is an absolute gem. Wonderfully welcoming and beautifully decorated throughout, this idyllic and romantic retreat is tucked away in a little lane, providing privacy and seclusion yet only yards from Fowey's bustling centre.
The shops, restaurants, art galleries and harbourside delights of this trendy fishermen's town and yacht-lover's heaven are just a minute's walk away; perfect for popping out for meals, boat trips or a leisurely wander through the narrow streets to window shop or indulge in a spot of well-earned retail therapy. Sandy beaches, coastal footpaths and secret coves are all on hand in this enchanting National Landscape.
Dressed in relaxed and soothing tones and lovingly furnished to exceptional standards, this charming semi-detached cottage is a stunning holiday home for families, friends and couples, and your four-legged friend is most welcome too. The open plan living-room is where you are sure to while away many an hour, relaxing with a good book, snuggled up enjoying time together and indulging in scrumptious holiday meals and may we recommend starting the day with freshly baked pastries picked up from the local bakery….delicious!
Take the stairs and two dreamy bedrooms await with super comfy beds adorned with White Company linens. Furnished with flair that complements the style and character of the cottage, the high vaulted ceiling and exposed beams add to the overall charm and romance.
Fowey is a delightfully picturesque town with charming fishermen's cottages, narrow streets and hundreds of yachts bobbing on their moorings; with Regatta weeks, the Fowey Festival of Words and Music, Fowey River Big Gig and Barbecue Weekend and Christmas markets, there is plenty on offer for entertainment. The secluded yet central location of Church Avenue Cottage is ideal for those who don't want to do much driving, with all the town's facilities on hand and ferries across to Polruan, Mevagissey and Bodinnick.
Pop on those walking boots and discover walks and trails that will delight. The circular Hall Walk is a great challenge, winding its way up the estuary to Pont and includes two ferry rides across the estuary.
If you want to venture a little further afield, there is much to tempt you. Garden enthusiasts will enjoy time spent at the world-renowned Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan or wandering the gardens and parkland at Lanhydrock Estate (National Trust) also taking time to visit the historic house. If cycling is your mode of transport the estate has a great network of trails to thrill as does Cardinham Woods.
You'll be transported back in time with a day at Charlestown, marvelling at the historic tall ships moored in the tiny harbour and if you fancy taking to the water yourself, have some fun in a kayak or canoe and make your way up the estuary towards the charming village of Lerryn.
