DoubleSet in the magical grounds of Trafalgar Barton Estate, nestled on a south-facing hillside, The Coach House has magical views over Branscombe Vale and out to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast at Branscombe Mouth. This beautiful, detached coach house has been thoughtfully renovated to create a contemporary spacious home, offering comfort, style, and luxury throughout. With a reverse living arrangement, you are guaranteed the most picture-perfect views from almost every window, making this superb abode the perfect retreat for that special holiday by the coast.
The grand entrance sweeps you up into the first floor where you will be greeted by the spacious open plan living area, fully equipped with the top of the range kitchen, large Smart TV and a beautiful space to relax and unwind in after a full day exploring your beautiful surroundings. A luxurious king-size bedroom and en suite can also be found on the first floor and are simply stunning. This room has a fabulous feature balcony for you to enjoy however please do ensure that children are supervised in this area. For the seventh member of the group, neatly tucked above the TV area is a mezzanine level, perfect for hiding away in for a good night's sleep. Please be aware this area has restricted headroom and is accessed via a ladder.
Two further en suite bedrooms can be found on the ground floor and are accessed off the welcoming entrance hall. A king-size double room plus a second bedroom offering a super-king 'zip and link' bed which enables the room to be configured as a twin room, ensuring flexible sleeping arrangements.
Stepping outside you will be greeted by a large barbecue and seating area. Enjoying the Devon sunshine and fresh air is a must. Sit back and relax whilst the children and dogs let off steam in the confines of your lawned area.
If you can drag yourself away from this perfect setting, your location is equally as special as the house itself. Branscombe is in the east Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now known as Natural Landscapes) and has fabulous walks straight from your doorstep. Try the National Trust's walking trail that takes you around this historic village, or a 15 minute walk to the beach.
The village has the added bonus of two excellent pubs, one at either end of the village, including the award-winning Masons Arms. The nearby shingle beach has a private car park, an exercise-area that welcomes dogs and the Sea Shanty Beach Cafe serving delicious seafood.
Within the grounds of Trafalgar Barton there are three cottages at your disposal. Why not book all three and make this year's holiday one to remember. Trafalgar Barton sleeps 12 and The Dolls House can accommodate a further two lucky guests, allowing you to holiday on a very grand scale. The more, the merrier!
Just along the coast, the pretty fishing village of Beer is surrounded by limestone cliffs, the wet fish shop on the beach is a great place to pick up the catch of the day and during the summer months water sports and boat trips are available from the shingle beach. Visit Seaton Jurassic, which offers the opportunity to see what the world was like 200 million years ago, with lots of fun activities for children.
Seaton also has a delightful tram that travels inland beside the River Axe estuary, passing through two nature reserves with a wide range of wading birds, all the way to the end of the line in historic Colyton. Further east, just over the border into Dorset, is the bustling town of Lyme Regis, with its fossil history, famous Monmouth Beach, quirky shops and safe sandy beach.
Surrounded by green countryside that borders the coast, there is no shortage of farm shops for delicious holiday treats, locally-reared meat for the barbecue and Devon grown produce. Along the coast to the west are beautiful Budleigh Salterton and regency Sidmouth.
Exmouth is further west still, where you can pick up the Exe Estuary Trail - 26 miles of gentle cycling from Exmouth to Dawlish, close to the water's edge, almost free from traffic and with a boat trip along the way if your legs need a rest. The ancient city of Exeter is well worth a visit with its magnificent cathedral and vibrant quayside.
