DoubleIf you are seeking the ultimate coastal getaway with more than a little exclusivity, look no further than this luxurious retreat in Seaview overlooking the beautiful Solent on the Isle of Wight, with private gated access to the water and shoreline.
Tamarisk House is situated on the water's edge with the most incredible views towards Portsmouth's historic waterfront and the far-reaching hills of West Sussex. Breathe in the sea air and soak in the calm with family and friends - set over two floors, expect gorgeous interiors, incredible facilities, plenty of space and fabulous waterside terraces, all this and more plus it's dog-friendly too.
Seaview and Seagrove Bay are simply beautiful with sandy beaches, a mix of independent shops, top-notch restaurants and activities such as kayaking, sailing, boat hire or exploring the Island's many coastal paths, oh and did we mention you don't even need to take the car out!
Enter this impressive property on the ground floor where the spectacular seascape surrounds the spacious open plan living space, incorporating a sleek, well-equipped kitchen, dining-area and comfortable sitting-area with TV, the perfect space for getting together and entertaining.
If you are still hungry for more 'wow' factor feast your eyes on the breathtaking views from the sun-room, take a seat here to marvel in the splendour of it all, pull the glass doors across to create your own little sanctuary, gazing at the views from the binoculars - oh yes we have a set waiting just for you!
On this floor discover two luxurious bedrooms; there's a super-king in the main bedroom with ocean views or a double at the front. Just along the hallway is an attractive family bathroom, soak in the blissful bath after a beach day or hiking to some of the most beautiful coastal locations on the island.
On sunny days head outside from the kitchen and soothe your soul by taking time out on one of the sunny terraces, watch the sun sparkle on the surf and take in the fresh sea air, just the spot for a delicious breakfast, or an evening barbecue.
The lower ground floor has its own side entrance with access to the sunny garden and gorgeous sea views. A peaceful night's sleep is promised in the double bedrooms on this floor, both also with sea views. The luxurious wet-room is shared by both bedrooms.
The ever so useful utility-room is also located on this level with a washing machine and tumble-drier, with an additional fridge, separate freezer and microwave taking care of dining al fresco on the lower terrace. The addition of a separate study allows you to keep in touch with the office or perhaps be inspired by the location and write a novel!
There's nothing the owners haven't considered for guests' comfort and convenience in this superb holiday home, you will never forget a holiday at Tamarisk House where holiday dreams really can come true.
Should you decide to explore further afield, this Island idyll has something for everyone. Seaview is a charming, traditional village with an excellent shop selling local produce and a good choice of restaurants including The Old Fort where you can enjoy the freshest seafood with sea views and the Seaview Hotel for more formal dining. Visit the artisan coffee shop Lily's cafe for gorgeous homemade cakes, salads, quiche and sandwiches, perfect for a beach picnic.
For swimming, rock pooling, sailing and paddleboarding head to the crystal-clear waters of Seagrove Bay, or take the boardwalk around the coast to Priory Beach. St Helen's is a short drive away and the sand/shingle beach here is also great for families, plus you can walk your four-legged friend around the Duver.
Osborne House, East Cowes (once the home of Queen Victoria) is very special and a whole day can be spent exploring the house, beautiful grounds and private beach, complete with restored bathing hut! For a change of scene head down Military Road to West Wight and marvel at the dramatic chalk cliffs. Wander to the beach here and it is possible to see fossilised dinosaur footprints amongst the shingle.
However you plan to spend your holiday days, Tamarisk House is the perfect base for all your Island adventures.
