Zip and linkSurrounded by rural bliss, this former old pottery barn has been sensitively refurbished with no detail overlooked creating a gorgeous holiday abode for you to enjoy! The warmest of welcome awaits you at The Old Pottery whether you're a solo traveller or a couple, and of course the welcome is extended to your trusted four-legged friend who will also fall under the north Devon spell.
After a day of exploring the north Devon coast path and hidden coves, not forgetting the beach cafes - cake is a must when on your holiday - return to the comforts of this beautiful abode. The cosiest of sitting-rooms offers the perfect spot to snuggle down and indulge in a book or two by day and a movie by night, or simply pour a glass of something and enjoy the tranquility.
The generous kitchen/diner is a delight - you could be at the cutest of tea rooms! The kitchen is fully equipped and perfect for cooking up that all-important morning brunch whilst you sit around the table and plan the day's adventures over a freshly brewed cafetiere of coffee.
When the stars come out and bedtime calls climb the stairs to the dreamiest of en suite bedrooms. With the perfectly positioned sumptuous bed and crisp linens you're sure to be asleep in no time! Thanks to the 'zip and link' bed you have the option of either a super-king double or twin beds - the choice is yours. The generous en suite offers the best of both worlds with that all-important bath and not forgetting the fitted shower. Please be aware that being in the eaves there are sloping ceilings.
No holiday is complete without a garden and this garden feels like a little slice of paradise offering the perfect spot to enjoy a sundowner or barbecue. This gorgeous retreat sits within the owners' courtyard, who are on hand should you require anything or to simply wave to as you pass each other. The Old Pottery offers privacy and has been refurbished with this in mind, and should you require a second parking space please request this at time of booking.
You will have the best of both worlds at The Old Pottery, which lies in a quiet rural setting just a few miles from the pretty coastal villages of Instow and Appledore and upriver from the market town of Bideford with its attractive quay, seasonal boat trips to Lundy Island and historic bridge over the River Torridge.
Outings to the north Devon coast are a must with a choice of stunning clifftop walks, little coves or long sandy beaches. Towards Cornwall you will find the historic village of Clovelly with its cobbled streets plunging down to the harbour (you can cheat and take a Land Rover ride back up to the car park at the top of the hill) and Hartland Point for one of the most breathtaking sections of the South West Coast Path. Beyond Barnstaple you can explore the World Heritage Site at Braunton Burrows - the largest expanse of sand dunes in the UK - and a bit further along the coast the surfing beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe. Many of the beaches here have all year round dog-friendly sections so there is something to suit all.
