Keepers Cottage is ideally located within the beautiful grounds of Ellingham Hall which has an impressive history and is often enjoyed by wedding guests . Where you can enjoy a stroll in the woodland, watch the children play in the nearby treehouse play park and where the friendly village pub with a restaurant is a short walk away. This spacious, reverse level, semi-detached house is perfect for a family getaway or get together.

Step into the porch, where there is space to hang your coats and leave your muddy boots, then into the spacious hallway. To the left you will find the utility-room with washing machine and freezer while straight ahead is the fantastic kitchen/diner with French doors onto the garden. The well-equipped kitchen boasts a range cooker, Tassimo coffee machine, a fabulous Belfast sink and views over the lawned garden. The farmhouse table with six chairs is a lovely place to share a meal and make plans for the next day's adventures. To the left of the kitchen head down two steps to the sun-room where you will find beautiful floor to ceiling windows and another set of French doors which open to let in the fresh air.

Along the hallway to the right is bedroom one, which boasts a large walk-in wardrobe, along with a fully-tiled bathroom. Wake up to the sun peeping through the trees, or on the other side you may catch a glimpse of a friendly peacock or two strutting around the garden ready to show off their beautiful plumage.

Take the elegant stairs to the first floor and you will first encounter the spacious sitting-room/games-room with views of the chapel connected to Ellingham Hall, here you could enjoy a game of table football. Why not have a competition over the holiday, or if it's more relaxation you are after there is plenty of comfy seating where you can gather together and catch up on your favourite shows on the Smart TV which has Freesat.

To one end of the room two steps take you down to bedroom two with two double beds and a sofa, a great place to enjoy some peace and quiet. There is an en suite shower-room adjoining this bedroom.

At the other end of the sitting-room you will find bedroom three mirroring the one below. There's also a bathroom which has a bath and separate shower while the bedroom has great views through all the windows. The Velux windows are perfect for gazing at the stars in this Dark Skies area.

Outside you will find a large lawned garden with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. You could make use of the charcoal barbecue to whip up a meal of local produce from one of the many farm shops nearby. Or you could just relax in one of the four reclining chairs.

The area surrounding the cottage has many wonderful places to visit. Take a boat trip out to the Farne Islands and watch the sea birds or cross the causeway across to Holy Island. A visit to Bamburgh Castle with its Norse history is a must, or try Alnwick Castle, the setting for some of the Harry Potter films. Alnwick Castle Gardens with a myriad of fountains are not to be missed, although be careful not to touch the flowers in the poison garden! And don't forget the famous second-hand book shop at the old railway station with a cafe and a model train running around the tops of the bookcases.

Further afield you can cross the border into Scotland or go south to Hadrian's Wall, built by the Romans to keep the Celts out of England.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg of things to do in the area. Take a walk along the fantastic beaches, try the local seafood or just relax in one of the many local pubs. Northumberland will soon became your favourite place to visit.
