Rose Cottage is an enchanting Grade II Listed period property situated in the heart of Hythe within walking distance of the Royal Military Canal, the seafront, and local amenities. It's a wonderful holiday home for families and friends looking for a seaside break.

As you open the front door you will be captivated by its large hallway, high ceilings and the many original features including the lovely old window shutters and wooden floors. The house is very spacious, to the left of the hallway you will find the sitting-room with plenty of seating, a Smart TV and a wonderful wood-burning stove for those chilly winter evenings.

Across the hallway is a twin bedroom which enjoys views of the pretty front garden and further along are two additional bedrooms, a delightful double with two steps up into an en suite bathroom, another double room and access to a utility-room. There is a door at the end of the hallway that leads down some steps to the back garden. Follow the staircase down and it will take you to the garden level where there is a hall and another door leading to the back garden. There is a dining-room and a well-equipped country-style kitchen with gas hob and electric double oven, Aga (available to cook on between November and February) and a large pantry.

Step outside to the secluded back garden where there is a patio and plenty of seating-areas to enjoy. Sit beneath the tree for afternoon tea or al fresco dining and enjoy the scented delights of this pretty cottage garden. The front garden has another seating-area, the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee and watch the world go by.

To the side of Rose Cottage is an annexe which has its own entrance and is occasionally used by the owner.

Babes in arms under 6 month's old are accepted at Rose Cottage.

Rose Cottage is a villa typical of its period and is believed to have once been the Harbour Master's house. There is no other property in the street like it, especially one that has such a gorgeous garden.

Being in the centre of the street you are only a stone's throw away from local amenities including a pub, a noodle bar and fish and chip shop. Hythe has a wide variety of shops including Waitrose, Sainsbury's, and Aldi.

Walk or cycle along the tow path of The Royal Military Canal or take a stroll into the Cinque Port of Hythe with its shops, restaurant, and beach. Explore Folkestone with its recently restored Harbour Arm and beautiful promenade or the historic earth banks of its once Norman motte and ringwork castle. The iconic English Heritage Dover Castle is not far away and makes for a good day out exploring the Roman lighthouse, Medieval Great Tower and the Secret Wartime Tunnels. Head to the beach for a bit of wild swimming, a popular pastime with visitors and locals.

Canterbury is a short drive and home to its famous cathedral, alongside St Martin's Church and St Augustine's Abbey. You may fancy relaxing on a lazy punt or take an historic boat trip on the river Stour. On your return to Rose Cottage, why not sample some wine at Simpson's Wine Estate.

Other places to visit include Lower Leas Coastal Park, Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, Kent Battle of Britain Museum Trust, Deal Castle, Walmer Castle, Jarman's Cottage at Dungeness, Canterbury Cathedral, Port Lympne Animal Park, Camber Sands, or the North Downs for cycling and walking.

The Channel Tunnel terminal and Ashford International are within easy reach and offer services to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam. The mainline railway station at Folkestone and Sandling station have direct connections to the high-speed service to London Stratford and St Pancras stations taking approximately 50 minutes.
