Super-kingBeautifully crafted and with captivating views at every turn, Maypool Hideaway is a delightful and luxurious retreat nestled in the verdant countryside of south Devon, with captivating views over the River Dart and beyond. Offering contemporary, high-spec living at its best whilst giving a nod to sustainable construction, this gorgeous superbly appointed and luxuriously decorated hideaway sleeps just two, perfect for a romantic getaway or a solo adventure.
Everything has been thought of here to ensure minimum impact on the environment and maximum relaxation and enjoyment. Under the guidance of an expert ecologist and landscape artists, Maypool Hideaway is constructed from beautiful, durable red cedar with a sedum roof built as a haven for wildflowers to sustain bee, butterfly, bird and bat populations. If you're staying between May and September you'll also enjoy the local wildflowers in bloom, planted at the entrance. Welcome to Maypool Hideaway!
From the moment you arrive you will realise you are somewhere very special indeed. The gravelled private parking-area leads to steps to the front door and entry into the open plan living space. Large double patio doors frame the magical view across the river, and you can relax on the sumptuous and comfy corner sofa to take it all in, bliss! If you can take your eyes away from the view, there's a Smart TV to keep you entertained as well as a cosy wood-burner for those chillier evenings. A super sleek kitchen/diner sits behind the sitting-area, with all the equipment you will need to cook a holiday meal and a lovely breakfast island perfectly positioned so you can chat with the chef. Artwork commissioned by the talented Dartmouth based Paul Barclay adorns the walls.
The large bedroom is an oasis of calm and tranquility, beautifully created in pastel shades and home to a dreamy super-king size bed and a view down the valley to the water. The en suite bathroom is quite special with a gorgeous free-standing bath and a walk-in shower so you can choose either a long soak or a refreshing shower.
Outside, a secluded bistro table and chairs on the deck area offer al fresco dining from dawn until dusk, or just grab your holiday read and enjoy the peace! Maypool Hideaway is one of five fabulous Hideaways which enjoy their very own piece of heaven. Via restricted and private access, you will find Maypool Hideaway tucked away, enjoying nothing but endless countryside and waterside views.
It will be hard to tear yourself away from your blissful retreat, but if you do decide to explore further afield you will find plenty to discover in this special part of the world. Water sports lovers can spend time paddleboarding, kayaking or wild swimming on the river and walkers can enjoy numerous picturesque walks directly from the Hideaway, which meander through beautiful, rolling countryside, creeks and riverbanks.
If you fancy an adventure, you certainly won't be short of them! You're in a fantastic location for exploring south Devon, with its beautiful golden sand beaches, miles of coast path, water sports and the delightful towns and villages of Brixham, Salcombe, Totnes and Kingsbridge. Take the passenger ferry over to Dartmouth for a wonderful day out in a fantastic town with plenty of eateries, independent shops and two gorgeous coves. A shorter ferry ride will take you to the quaint riverside village of Dittisham, where you'll find superb places to eat and drink including the Ferry Boat Inn and Anchorstone Cafe. If you fancy delving into history and literature, Agatha Christie's favoured holiday home, Greenway, is just a walk away. However you plan to spend your getaway, you'll certainly make lasting memories at Maypool Hideaway.
