DoubleWelcome to Seaway House, a fabulous holiday retreat perched overlooking the beautiful south Devon countryside and out to sea, locations don't get more special than this.
Nestled between Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, you will be spoilt for choice as to which direction to head out in. Both beaches are right on your doorstep and offer those memory making days out for all the family. Slightly further afield you have the fabulous Naval town of Dartmouth and the exceptionally popular 'walking' town of Kingsbridge, both offering something rather special and most certainly worth visiting. To really soak up the beauty of this gorgeous area, there is no better way to do so than meandering at your leisure along the South West Coast Path, a walk which will never get boring.
Or perhaps relaxing, unwinding and rejuvenating in the glorious garden at Seaway House is just the ticket. The elevated decked area ensures that whatever your doing, may it be relaxing with a good book, dining al fresco or just unwinding with a glass of something tasty in hand, your views are simply stunning.
Retiring to this super house following an action-packed day is a real treat. The large open plan kitchen/dining-room makes for a great communal space to all help whip up a feast, the sitting-room equipped with wood-burner for those cooler evenings is a beautiful place to all come together to relax, not forgetting the fabulous conservatory which allows you to enjoy those magnificent views from the comfort of your own home, whatever the weather. When it comes to bedtime, three light, airy and welcoming bedrooms await, bedrooms one and two are treated to a far-reaching balcony, another delightful spot to enjoy the views from. Now that's what I call 'a room with a view'.
The beautiful grounds at Seaway House are gated and enclosed; therefore, once you have parked the car(s), you can truly relax whilst the younger members of the party let off steam and explore. That's if they're not already exhausted from a day out at one of numerous beaches or hot spots which surround you.
On the theme of relaxing, should chef fancy a night off, you have the super popular strip at Slapton Sands which is home to a wonderful pub serving good old traditional food, or perhaps fish and chips on the beach is just the ticket. In the opposite direction and within half a mile, you have the friendly village of Strete, which is home to another traditional welcoming pub and eatery.
A getaway at Seaway House will leave you feeling spoilt, relaxed and eager to return.
Seaway House is located within a short drive away from Torcross and Slapton Sands. Slapton Sands offers a 1.2 mile stretch of shingle beach, and this area of coastline is an historic site, well-known for its role in the Allied preparations for the D-Day landings. If you're a nature lover, Slapton Ley Nature Reserve is a fantastic spot, located adjacent to the beach. The lake here is the largest natural lake in southwest England and is wonderful for walking and wildlife watching.
If you're in search of more of the coastline, Blackpool Sands is just around the corner - a gorgeous golden sandy beach with a beach cafe and shop, and the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic choice of water sports. The wonderful towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe are within easy reach, offering independent shops, cute cafes and welcoming pubs. And if you fancy picking up some fresh, local produce for mealtimes, Stokely Farm Shop is only a short car journey away and perfect for foodies.
Not forgetting the Royal Navy port of Dartmouth is under five miles away, once in Dartmouth, hop across the water on the ferry, followed by a short car drive and you are in the bustling harbour town of Brixham. Brixham's beautiful harbour offers attraction and wonder for all ages, boasting one of the largest fishing fleets in the country. Buzzing with activity and entertainment with endless restaurants, cafes, welcoming pubs and cocktail bars, spending a day or two in this special town will not be forgotten. Especially as Brixham is home to the Blue Flag Breakwater beach, which is perfect for the little ones, along with the sea water swimming pool of Shoalstone. Both venues are guaranteed to entertain the whole family for hours.
Whichever direction you head off in, Seaway House offers you a very special location to relax and unwind in, with the added bonus of being treated to adventure and activity in all directions.
